Computation and Display of 3D Movie From a Single Integral Photography

2016

Integral photography is an auto-stereoscopic technique that allows, among other interesting applications, the display of 3D images with full parallax and avoids the painful effects of the accommodation-convergence conflict. Currently, one of the main drawbacks of this technology is the need of a huge amount of data, which have to be stored and transmitted. This is due to the fact that behind every visual resolution unit, i.e. behind any microlens of an integral-photography monitor, between 100 and 300 pixels should appear. In this paper, we make use of an updated version of our algorithm, SPOC 2.0, to alleviate this situation. We propose the application of SPOC 2.0 for the calculation of co…

Fully Dynamic Evaluation of Sequence Pair

2013

In the electronic design automation field, as well as in other areas, problem instances and solutions are often subject to discrete changes. The foundational significance of efficient updates of the criterion value after dynamic updates, instead of recomputing it from scratch each time, has attracted a lot of research. In this paper, motivated by the significance of the sequence pair (SP) representation for floorplanning, we develop a fully dynamic algorithm of SP evaluation, that efficiently updates a criterion value after insertions and deletions of SP elements and after modifications of element weights. Our result is based on a new data structure for the predecessor problem, which mainta…

The expansion $\star$ mod $\bar{o}(\hbar^4)$ and computer-assisted proof schemes in the Kontsevich deformation quantization

2019

The Kontsevich deformation quantization combines Poisson dynamics, noncommutative geometry, number theory, and calculus of oriented graphs. To manage the algebra and differential calculus of series of weighted graphs, we present software modules: these allow generating the Kontsevich graphs, expanding the noncommutative & x22c6;-product by using a priori undetermined coefficients, and deriving linear relations between the weights of graphs. Throughout this text we illustrate the assembly of the Kontsevich & x22c6;-product up to order 4 in the deformation parameter Already at this stage, the & x22c6;-product involves hundreds of graphs; expressing all their coefficients via 149 w…

Algorithms for transforming an integral photography into a plenoptic picture

2013

We report a simple algorithm for transforming the set of elemental images captured with an integral-photography set up, into the set of micro-images ready to be projected into an integral-imaging monitor. The method is based in the transposing relation between an integral photography and a plenoptic picture. The reported technique permits to adapt the integral images to the resolution and size of the monitor.

Some Remarks on Automata Minimality

2011

It is well known that the minimization problem of deterministic finite automata (DFAs) is related to the indistinguishability notion of states (cf. [HMU00]). Indeed, a well known technique to minimize a DFA, essentially, consists in finding pairs of states that are equivalent (or indistinguishable), namely pairs of states (p,q) such that it is impossible to assert the difference between p and q only by starting in each of the two states and asking whether or not a given input string leads to a final state. Since, in the testing states equivalence, the notion of initial state is irrelevant, some of the main techniques for the minimization of automata, such as Moore’s algorithm [Moo56] and Ho…

Fully programmable display parameters in integral imaging by smart pseudoscopic-to-orthoscopic conversion

2011

Previously, we reported a digital technique for formation of real, non-distorted, orthoscopic integral images by direct pickup. However the technique was constrained to the case of symmetric image capture and display systems. Here, we report a more general algorithm which allows the pseudoscopic to orthoscopic transformation with full control over the display parameters so that one can generates a set of synthetic elemental images that suits the characteristics of the Integral-Imaging monitor and permits control over the depth and size of the reconstructed 3D scene.

Dense Geometry of Music and Visual Arts: Vanishing Points, Continuous Tonnetz, and Theremin Performance

2018

The dualism between continuous and discrete is relevant in music theory as well as in performance practice of musical instruments. Geometry has been used since longtime to represent relationships between notes and chords in tonal system. Moreover, in the field of mathematics itself, it has been shown that the continuity of real numbers can arise from geometrical observations and reasoning. Here, we consider a geometrical approach to generalize representations used in music theory introducing continuous pitch. Such a theoretical framework can be applied to instrument playing where continuous pitch can be naturally performed. Geometry and visual representations of concepts of music theory and…

Properties of blended mortars produced with recycled by-products from different waste streams

2023

The construction industry encounters significant challenges in effectively managing solid waste produced during the extraction and production of building materials. In different countries, slurry waste generated from granite and marble processing industries, such as glass industry waste, constitutes a considerable portion of the total solid waste. Its undesirable disposal is causing unprecedented environmental damage. Using these non-biodegradable wastes to produce building materials would reduce the environmental burden and contribute to sustainable construction. This study, in detail, investigates the feasibility of utilizing Granite Powder (GP), Ground Granite Powder (GGP), and Ground Gl…

AG FRONZONI,一個字母片段包含整個世界 / AG FRONZONI, a fragment of letter contains the whole world

2009

A G Fronzoni has always swum away from the herd, as an enormous cetacean he has crossed alone the oceans, like a solitary explorer who wants to put his capabilities to test , and he knows that first of all he can count on his own courage, in addition to the essential equipment. The same he has gone through the endless and livid glaciers, where like the esquimese peo…
