Defects of NADH:coenzyme Q oxidoreductase (complex I) of mitochondria have been described in many congenital and acquired diseases. Administration of coenzyme Q (CoQ, ubiquinone) has been shown to benefit patients with some of these diseases. However, the mechanisms by which CoQ exerts the therapeutic effects are not clearly understood. A reason could be the lack of saturation of CoQ, in kinetic terms, for complex I activity. However, this hypothesis has not been proved in vivo because of the difficulty to incorporate CoQ into the mitochondrial membranes. Predictive Chaos Control for the 1D-map of Action Potential Duration

International audience; In the present work, a nonlinear control method namely predictive controlis investigated. The proposed method allows stabilizing unstable period-1 rhythm.Using mathematical analysis and computer simulations, we show that this methodcan be used to control chaotic behavior or pathological rhythms. As example, theresults are illustrated in the case of the 1D-map action potential duration (APDi+1)which modelizes the cardiac action potential duration as the function of the previousone (APDi).

International audience; This paper presents an optimal selection on the region of interest (ROI) and color spaces to extract photoplethysmography signals from facial videos. The study is carried out under two sections; ROI selection and color space selection. We compared five different ROI selection for different regions of the face.
