Emerge un quadro di ricerche che, nonostante gli stimolanti temi di indagine e l’interesse delle fonti consultate, sono ancora caratterizzate da un approccio marcatamente settoriale. Since the end of the nineteenth century, the attention of Italian historiography to the Spanish monarchy in the modern age has been a constant in political, social and economic studies. Although we do not find in the narrative of the Peloponnesian War an explicit analogy between the phases of human life (more or less distributed) and those of the great political bodies, it remains nevertheless fruitful in my opinion to explore the text in search of clues for biological metaphors.
