A tanulmány a magyar nyelvi standarddal foglalkozik. A használt elméleti keret a nyelvi ideológiák kutatása, amelyet kiegészítettem a társalgáselemzés módszertanával. A nyelvi standard jellegzetesen ideológiai fogalom. A magyar nyelvészetben is nyelven kívüli jegyekkel definiálják a magyar nyelvi standard kifejezést. A magyar kultúra standard központú nyelvi kultúra, amelynek fő ismerve az, hogy a magyar nyelv alapjelentésben egyenlő standard változatával. In Finnland wird Mehrsprachigkeit traditionell geschätzt. Im Zeitalter von Globalisierung und Internationalisierung mit Englisch als Lingua franca muss man sich jedoch auch fragen, welchen Wert andere Sprachen als Englisch noch haben. Ziel vorliegender Studie war, die Einstellungen des Universitätspersonals in Finnland zum Gebrauch anderer Fremdsprachen als Englisch und speziell zum Deutschen zu untersuchen und Rückschlüsse auf verbreitete Sprachideologien zu ziehen. This study reviews research publications topically related to day centres for people with mental health problems. The purposes are to give a general overview of the evidence-based knowledge in the field, to detect gaps of knowledge, and to throw light on the following research questions: (1) Which ideologies about day centres may be revealed in Scandinavian- and English-speaking research on day centres for people with mental health problems; and (2) What significance do the day centres have for the users?Both questions are answered by examining 34 research publications, printed in either Scandinavian or English languages during the period 1962-2015. Taking a cognitive lexical semantics perspective, the article introduces the concept of conceptual silencing as a rhetorical tool. Understood as a process of conceptual dissolution of meaning to offer a more coarse-grained sense of an expression, conceptual silencing is demonstrated to have a potential rhetorical value in that it allows for more opaque reproduction of ideology. From a cognitive linguistic standpoint, the process of conceptual silencing hinges upon a polysemous nature of a lexical item and boils down to triggering a given sense of a given lexical item in a given context. This article aims to analyse critically the so-called “new realism” and to evaluate its pedagogical and educational consequences. By examining the objections made by this philosophy to the postmodernist culture, the author agrees on some aspects of its theory of knowledge. On the other hand, the article highlights the lack of adequate anthropology and possible consequences of the “new realism” on educational thought and practice. The proposal of an ontology of the person wellestablished in the tradition of phenomenological realism is seen as dialectics of the “new realism”.

Gendered Work-life Ideologies among IT Professionals

The study investigates the discourses IT professionals use to produce work–life relations. We focus on work–life ideologies and explore the agencies produced, as well as whether and how they are gendered. Our data were collected in interviews with 24 women and men working in the IT industry in Finland. Our results show, first, that work–life relations were constructed discursively through two different work–life ideologies, and second, that these ideologies produced different gendered agencies in reconciling work with life.
