The Animal Subject. Explorations on the Edge of Subjectivity
2021
Despite their undeniable connection to the body and its physiological processes, the phenomenological account of drives differentiates them from both instinctual behaviour and merely biological forces. They design a characteristic dimension of the personal grasp of the world, necessary for our meaningful orientation in all given situations. My claim is that Husserl’s interpretation of drives presents them not as centrifugal forces, but as centripetal strivings, contributing to the unitary constitution of the person. The conflicting interaction of drives lets emerge the animal subjectivity whose unity is given by a unique style of wishing and striving. The final question is, therefore, how t…

ABSTRACT. In this paper we reflect on the power of collective action in relation to political transformations. To do this, we have focused on the notion of collective intentionality of the philosopher John Searle and…
Phenomenologies of Trust
2019
Aim of the paper is to compare different phenomenological accounts of the phenomenon of trust. After moving from the “noematic” observation of trust as embedded in the world, toward the “noetic” consideration of trust as a subjective act, we introduce the view of trust as a specific kind of perceptive experience giving the person as a totality and being characterized by a displacing double intentionality. Trust is therefore grasped as a teleological intentional process. This requires a phenomenological-genetic approach and challenges us to overcome the restrictions imposed by a static phenomenology of trust. The genetic approach focuses on trust as a grounding and selffostering experience t…
Pre-convenzioni: un frammento dello Sfondo
2014
In this paper I argue that there exist conventions of a peculiar sort, which are neither norms nor regularities of behaviour, partaking of both. I proceed as follows. After a sketchy analysis of the meaning of ‘convention’, I give some examples of the kind of phenomena I have in mind: bodily skills, know-how, taste and style, habitus (P. Bourdieu), «disciplines» (M. Foucault). Then I group some arguments supporting my claim: (i) considerations about the identity conditions of precedents (D. Lewis) and about the projectibility of predicates in inductive inference generally (N. Goodman); (ii) thoughts about rule-following (L. Wittgenstein); (iii) an examination of some of J. R. Searle’s ideas…

A tool to observe the phenomenology and aesthetics of primary relationships: the “dance steps” of reciprocity between caregivers and infant/child – P…
2023
This study addresses the complexity of caregiver-infant/child interactions from the theoretical frame of Gestalt psychotherapy and the field of application of Pediatric Psychology. Based on a previous empirical study on the process of reciprocity in caregiver-infant/child interactions (Spagnuolo Lobb, 2016), the authors have worked on the construction of an observational tool to look at the co-creation of meaningful experiences, switching the focus from the child to the “dance” of reciprocity between caregiver and infant/child. Considering the contextualization in the field of Pediatric Psychology, this pilot study aimed to test the tool’s application with caregiverpreterm infant dyads, but…
La Media Education tra cultura partecipativa e intenzionalità civica. Due casi di studio
2022
The mass diffusion of the web in the early 1990s, and the web 2.0 a decade later, has undoubtedly allowed a more democratic access to information and knowledge, and served as a catalyst for sociability and participation as it offers the possibility of cultivating spaces for discussion and sharing with a potentially infinite number of people. Since then, innumerable forms of grassroot online engagement have grown in the most diverse fields, from leisure, to politics, to civicism making concrete the possibility of a new digital public sphere (Marinelli and Cioni 2014, Bartoletti and Faccioli 2013, Dahlgren 2009). This socio- communicative ferment, which Jenkins (1992) describes with the contr…
La Media Education al Centro Tau. Dalla teoria alla pratica
2022
