New trends in teacher’s education. Educational placement of the adopted child

Abstract In Italy, the number of adopted school-age children is increasing. According to the Commission of Intercountry Adoption (2013), 3106 children were adopted, 47.5% of them are between 5 and 9 years old. The present action-research aims at exploring the spread of good approaches in schools in terms of welcoming of adopted children. For this purpose, 268 teachers of primary schools were involved in analyzing the social representation about adopted children and their family. The results show a simplified vision of the adoptive family, which is described as heroic family or, on the contrary, as a family with difficulty.

La ricerca analizza sia i processi macrosociali, riferiti alla comunità, sia i processi micro, propri della dinamica di coppia. Per i primi abbiamo esaminato la percezione di diversità che può scaturire dalle dinamiche intergruppali e l’identità di luogo (intesa come radicamento nel nuovo contesto di accoglienza); per le dinamiche di coppia si sono prese in esame l’impatto che la presenza dei figli genera sulla dinamica di coppia e gli stili educativi adottati. Coerentemente con il metodo d’indagine della ricerca qualitativa, sono state intervistate 22 coppie miste residenti in Sicilia. Assessment is viewed as an internal and pivotal part of learning, where cultural factors, previous experiences, and future aspirations affect learners’ perceptions. In recent years, an increasing number of western universities have established their campuses or “dual” programmes in China. In the first Sino–Finnish programme, 293 Finnish and Chinese students participated in the same English for Specific Purposes (ESP) course. Student experiences of critical multilingual and intercultural communication competence assessment in higher education

In this chapter, we present multilingual and intercultural communication competence (MICC) as a situational and contextual process. The aim of this qualitative, empirical study is to understand the students’ perceptions of assessing MICC as a holistic phenomenon that does not represent an ethnocentric world view and considers the role of language use in interaction. We look at assessing MICC as a process of giving and receiving feedback rather than as a summative assessment. The data consist of 74 texts on assessments written by university students. This study arises from recent research within the context of a new Sicily, where the various ethnic groups inhabiting it have become EFL users who have different cultural and linguistic backgrounds and appropriate the English without necessarily conforming to its grammatical and lexical norms. In questo saggio si traccia un profilo della studiosa, pedagogista e filosofa palermitana Fanny Giambalvo considerando vita e opere e tenendo insieme testimonianza affettiva ed elaborazione concettuale. Parallelamente viene condotta una riflessione sulla tradizione culturale siciliana in ambito formativo e filosofico, a partire da un’analisi di alcuni temi cari alla Giambalvo. In particolare vengono delineati alcuni tratti che si legano alla sua persona sul piano umano e culturale, si intrecciano tra loro e si inseriscono nella tradizione intellettuale siciliana che dagli anni venti del‘900 arriva fino ai nostri giorni.
