Disturbed motor control of rhythmic movement at 2 h and delayed after maximal eccentric actions.

The aim of this study was to examine the influence of exercise-induced muscle damage on elbow rhythmic movement (RM) performance and neural activity pattern and to investigate whether this influence is joint angle specific. Ten males performed an exercise of 50 maximal eccentric elbow flexions in isokinetic machine with duty cycle of 1:15. Maximal dynamic and isometric force tests (90 degrees , 110 degrees and 130 degrees elbow angle) and both active and passive stretch reflex tests of elbow flexors were applied to the elbow joint. Neuromuscular changes after long-lasting mechanically and electrically elicited fatigue

Central fatigue was investigated under an isolated active condition whereby the possible effects of supraspinal fatigue were minimized. Therefore, ten subjects were fatigued by simultaneously and repeatedly mechanically stretching and electrically stimulating their calf muscles for 1 h. This was performed using an ankle ergometer. The active fatigue task included a total of 2400 muscle stretches with an intensity of 10% of the maximal voluntary contraction (MVC). Complex radial head and neck fractures treated with modern locking plate fixation

Background Internal fixation of complex radial head and neck (CRHN) fractures is difficult, and postoperative complications are common. This study evaluated elbow function and patient clinical status after internal fixation of CRHN fractures with modern locking plates. Methods We included 40 patients with 41 fractures (1 bilateral lesion). In 25 patients (61%), a concomitant injury was found. Patients were an average age of 46 years (range, 22-70 years). T2 Mapping of the Sacroiliac Joints in Patients with Axial Spondyloarthritis

Purpose: To test whether T2 mapping of the sacro-iliac joints (SIJs) might help identifying patients with spondyloarthritis. Cycling exercise and the determination of electromechanical delay.

The main aim of the present paper was to address the validity of a methodology proposed in a previous paper [Li L, Baum BS. Electromechanical delay estimated by using electromyography during cycling at different pedaling frequencies. J Electromyogr Kinesiol 2004;14(6):647-52], aimed at determining the electromechanical delay from pedaling exercise performed at various cadences. Voluntary activation and mechanical performance of human triceps surae muscle after exhaustive stretch-shortening cycle jumping exercise.

The purpose of this study was to examine neuromuscular factors that may contribute to post exercise force loss and subsequent recovery after exhaustive stretch-shortening cycle (SSC) exercise. Six subjects were fatigued on a sledge apparatus by 100 maximal rebound jumps followed by continuous submaximal jumping until complete exhaustion. Exercise-induced changes in neuromuscular performance were followed up to 7 days post exercise. The total number of jumps in the SSC exercise ranged from 336 to 1392. Condylar growth after non-surgical advancement in adult subject: a case report.

Abstract Background A defect of condylar morphology can be caused by several sources. Case report A case of altered condylar morphology in adult male with temporomandibular disorders was reported in 30-year-old male patient.
