Abstract. The extraction of reliable and repeatable interest points among images is a fundamental step for automatic image orientation (Structure-From-Motion). Despite recent progresses, open issues in challenging conditions - such as wide baselines and strong light variations - are still present. Over the years, traditional hand-crafted methods have been paired by learning-based approaches, progressively updating the state-of-the-art according to recent benchmarks. The opportunities and challenges of teaching and learning in the same and different space and time have been discussed in the field of distance education for several decades. Within COVID-19, a new type of experimenting and research interest in so-called hybrid learning has emerged. In this article, we present the results from exploring “hybridity” from the perspective of classical categorizations of different forms of learning in terms of time and space. We explored the phenomenon through two cases with the same high-level strategic objective, serving hybrid interaction. Increased understanding of the complex synergetic influences of psychosocial and physical learning environments (LEs) on learning and wellbeing has drawn attention to their careful design. Contemporary learner-centred educational paradigms emphasise the importance of learner involvement in the LE design. A gap exists, however, between the theoretical discourses of LE design and their application into educational practice. Inquiry-based teaching has been at the heart of science education since it was first outlined in national standards over a decade ago. The general idea behind the inquiry guidelines is that pupils would adopt ways of conducting science, in addition to conceptually learning, thus attaining also the epistemological dimension of science. In this conceptual paper, we explore online collaborative interaction from the perspective of dialogicality. 1990-luvun alussa Suomen lainsäädäntö mahdollisti opetuksen vieraalla kielellä (CLIL – Content and Language Integrated Learning). Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan englanninkielipainotteisessa sisätauti-kirurgisessa koulutusohjelmassa opiskelleiden sairaanhoidon opiskelijoiden ammatillista suullista englannin kielen taitoa. This conceptual article deals with components and concepts of transformative learning, emphasizing the organization-level perspective on critical reflection.
