OBJECTIVE: Little is known regarding the relationship between treatment adherence and residual cognitive dysfunction in euthymic bipolar disorder patients. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the longitudinal course and outcome of cognitive deficits and their clinical correlates in bipolar disorder. METHOD: One hundred thirteen participants (68 patients and 45 healthy controls) were assessed by the means of a neuropsychological battery targeting attention, psychomotor speed, verbal memory, and executive functions at baseline: 68 euthymic outpatients with a DSM-IV diagnosis of bipolar disorder (53 bipolar I and 15 bipolar II) were enrolled at the Bipolar Disorder Unit of the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. Motor imagery (MI) is a frequently used and effective method for motor learning in sports as well as in other domains. Electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies indicated that experts within a certain sport exhibit a more pronounced brain activity during MI as compared to novices. Comparison of Foot and Hand Reaction Times among Men: A Methodologic Study Using Simple and Multiple-Choice Repeated Measurements

The primary study goal was to compare visual simple and choice reaction times of the hand and foot to assess validity of measurements for evaluating subjects' ability to perform rapid, controlled movements. First, we examined the repeatability ( N = 34) for four different data-sampling methods from a series of 12 trials within sessions and between two test sessions. This study compares the improvement and generalization of arm motor performance after physical or mental training in a motor task requiring a speed-accuracy tradeoff.
