Il volume, corredato da una prefazione del Prof. Paolo Santangelo, comprende una lunga introduzione sullo sviluppo della letteratura cinese contemporanea incentrata sul racconto, e propone, nella traduzione italiana dell'Autrice stessa dall'originale in cinese, dodici racconti scritti fra il 1977 e il 1981. The volume includes a preface written by Prof. Paolo Santangelo, a long introduction to the contemporary Chinese literature based on the short story, and the translations by the Author herself into Italian from the original in Chinese of twelve short stories written between 1977 and 1981.

The author tries to explain the mini-text in relation to the so called "post-modern" condition by resorting -in particular- to the notion of "fractal". This term is taken from the scientific language and distinguishes itself from the notion of "detail", which would clearly refer to a modern vision of the text. The article intends to synthetically reconstruct a line of development of the Italian narrative contemporary, from the nineties onwards, based on the concept of authenticity, vast and rich in applications in the most disparate fields (juridical, philosophical, artistic). After a brief review of four emblematic cases for the use of authenticity rhetoric (Siti, Moresco, Mozzi, non-fiction), the article offers a brief overview of the narrative of last twenty years.
