Optimum Solution for Sliding Formwork Equipment
2015
In the present context of the construction domain where everything needs to respond to the market requirements and time efficiency is an ongoing issue, the paper analyses the optimum solution for a sliding formwork. By using all the previous data obtained through PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) approach, we determined the particular solution. For this creative methods were used.As a future step, by having such solution we can design an intelligent equipment and make a step ahead in the formwork industry.
ERP lifecycle: When to retire your ERP system?
2011
Published version of a chapter in the book: Enterprise information systems, vol 219, part 3, 168-177. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-24358-5_17 A lot of research has been undertaken focusing on ERP systems lifecycles, but very little paid attention to retirement. ERP retirement means the replacement of an ERP with another. The aim of this research paper is to investigate why and when should organizations retire their ERP systems. A convenience case study of an SME has been selected from Egypt. The case study under investigation has retired their local ERP system and replaced it with SAP ERP. Results of our analysis indicated that reasons of retirem…
A Conceptual Model of Product Design
2013
The paper presents a conceptual model that pursues the understanding of the activities, the phases and the mechanisms of product design. The purpose of this model is to aid the product conception phase, as well as to develop software products that can furthermore aid design. The model takes into account the entire mental potential of the human being. The paper uses Jung's model in order to describe the various aspects of the human psyche. The paper presents a number of design models from the scientific literature. The proposed model defines domains of the needs imposed by stakeholders and specialists, functions domains and product domains. It explains the mechanism through which information…

Web engineering and multi-criterion analisys of modeling languages used in production systems
2010
Abstract Economic globalization and strong, unprecedented, industrial competition, the overwhelming influence of information and communication technology, the Internet and its most important service, i.e. the World Wide Web have an undisputed impact upon all enterprises, exerting a strong influence on the competition system, the accelerated development of new products and services through reducing the development time of the product life cycle, as well as the improvement of upstream and downstream communication with suppliers and customers. Within this framework, taking into account the decline in worldwide economy, especially during the past few years, this paper aims to proposing a new so…
An Information Systems Design Theory for Integrated Requirements and Release Management Systems
2009
High-tech companies need to collect and analy- ze requirements and allocate them to appropriate product releases in market-driven product development. Develop- ment activities are typically scattered across multiple sites and involve multiple partners in different countries, complicating requirements and release management. Fle- xible, scalable, and secure groupware-based support for the activities provides substantial payoffs. Yet, the extant literature provides little theoretical guidance for designing and using requirements and release management systems in multi-site, multi-partner environments. This article de- velops the meta-requirements and a meta-design of an Information Systems De…
Augmented context based on prediction for efficient knowledge reuse of business knowledge in design
2017
Works on the design context augmentation in product design, makes it possible to make awareness designers on their choice in the design for assembly. The presented approach will conclude on the method to develop a informatic system, based on case studies of mechanical design. The purpose of the project is to capture the design intent, in order to provide useful assistance to stakeholders, such as design support, decision making, verification/validation, and data structuring.
OntoSTEP: Enriching product model data using ontologies
2012
The representation and management of product lifecycle information is critical to any manufacturing organization. Different modeling languages are used at different lifecycle stages, for example STEP's EXPRESS may be used at a detailed design stage, while UML may be used for initial design stages. It is necessary to consolidate product information created using these different languages to build a coherent knowledge base. In this paper, we present an approach to enable the translation of STEP schema and its instances to Ontology Web Language (OWL). This gives a model-which we call OntoSTEP-that can easily be integrated with any OWL ontologies to create a semantically rich model. As an examp…
Review of the methods for the development of information security policies at organizations
2016
This thesis aims to have an overview of the current studies in the development of information security policy. The research is based on a systematical literature review. The study focuses on the development process of information security policy and other relevant issues in information security policy development within organizations. There are four research questions are proposed based on this topic: 1) what are the functions of information security policy; 2) what kind of stakeholders should be involved in the development of information security policy; 3) what is the information security policy lifecycle; 4) what are the methods in development of information security policy. The research…
Advantages of Public Cloud Infrastructure in Different Technology Adoption Lifecycle Stages
2012
Independent software vendors (ISV) utilize cloud infrastructure for different reasons. We hypothesize that the motivation to adopt cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) changes as the ISV’s product is getting adopted by the market. In this paper we consider how the infrastructure needs of ISVs change along the stages of ISV product’s adoption lifecycle, and analyze the potential benefits of utilizing IaaS in different stages. The analysis is illustrated with the cases of ISV firms with documented use of IaaS. These cases support the hypothesis that different benefits of IaaS are gaining importance along the adoption lifecycle. peerReviewed
