Gutorow podjął próbę opisania i scharakteryzowania twórczości Davida Jonesa, brytyjskiego poety, malarza i eseisty kojarzonego ze zwrotem modernistycznym pierwszej połowy XX wieku. First World War Diaries: Making the Private Public

This article analyses several World War I Diaries written by soldiers on the Front. Starting with the circumstances of publication and their effects on the text, the article addresses the passage of these very private texts into public life, before turning to the role played by the diaries for the soldiers who write them. Studies of the diary as a genre are used to show how war diaries fit into the more general genre. Finally the article turns to the reception of these works, by studying what part literary distance may play for the soldiers keeping a diary, and by arguing that the task of making sense of these texts has been transferred to present-day readers.

Electronic correspondence is a highly dynamic genre within the business world in which Register Variation (RV) is frequently used as a tool to improve communication but it often can lead to misunderstanding. In order to shed some light on this still unexplored area, the present study firstly offers a practical approach to classify and analyse RV within professional communication. After this, it reviews previous studies on email writing to apply their findings to this approach and, in the third part of the study, a corpus of recent business emails in English is analysed to examine how the key parameters of RV are currently used within this genre. La devoció en terres de parla catalana a l'anacoreta sant Onofre es troba bastant difosa i compta amb nombrosos testimonis. Entre els literaris, en destaquen dos. Un, en català, publicat a principis del segle XVI, a València —anònim i amb clares evidències de ser un treball que recull textos elaborats en estadis anteriors—, i l'altre publicat a Barcelona —malgrat que obra del valencià Onofre Salt—, del 1620, i en castellà. Ens proposem veure les diferències entre l'un i l'altre i, encara, els punts en comú de dos textos devocionals hagiogràfics que es troben als extrems de la cruïlla de l'edat moderna: de l'edat mitjana al Renaixement, el primer, i ja al barroc, el segon.

El present treball estudia el primer milacre vicentí de què es té constància que va ser imprés: La font de Llíria. Editat anònim a València, el 1822, per primera vegada, és una mostra del teatre popular i de carrer del segle XIX i, a més de ser reeditat en diferents ocasions, arribà a inspirar altres autors posteriors. The present work studies the first trext printed wich is considered a milacre (dramatic piece about Saint Vincent Ferrer). La font de Lliria was published anonymously in Valencia, in 1822, for the first time, and it is a sample of popular theater of the nineteenth century. It has been reedited on several occasions, and it has come to inspire later authors.

The article explores Roberta Torre’s film Sud Side Stori (2000), an extravagant Italian re-vision of Romeo and Juliet set in the Sicilian city of Palermo which displays awareness of the global circulation of the story of the two ‘‘star-crossed lovers’’. In the film, which combines neo-realist cinematographic techniques with the artificial style of the musical, Shakespeare’s young lovers become Toni Giulietto, a lousy local rock singer, and Romea Wacoubo, a beautiful Nigerian prostitute who falls in love with him when she sees him standing on his balcony. El poema dramático Ifigenia cruel de Alfonso Reyes se estrenó en México en 1934. El espectáculo documentado expuesto, de la compañía Teatro de Ensayo Escena y dirigido de Aitor Goiricelaya, tuvo lugar en el Instituto de Cultura Hispánica en abril de abril de 1958, durante régimen de Franco. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la obra Hate de Laetitia Dosch, estrenada en Lausana en 2018, a la luz de teorías recientes sobre la desnudez femenina, la sexualidad entre especies y la subjetividad animal no humana. Con una mujer completamente desnuda y un semental blanco, el espectáculo gira en torno a la posibilidad de comunicación entre especies y la necesidad de reevaluar el significado de la humanidad y la animalidad a través de la representación teatral. Resum: Encara que el monopoli oficial dels espectacles teatrals a la Barcelona del Set-cents era en mans de l’Hospital de la Santa Creu, és sabut que l’afició dels barcelonins pel teatre anava més enllà de la Casa de Comèdies gestionada per aquesta entitat. En el present article es mostren diversos casos que manifesten l’interès del públic barceloní per la tonadilla, gènere lírico-escènic breu importat a la Ciutat Comtal per imitació dels teatres madrilenys. Aquest interès ultrapassava l’escenari de la Casa de Comèdies, amb un curiós comerç dels textos i la possibilitat d’una pràctica privada.
