This paper describes the creation and design of a series of activities aimed at learning the hotel management lexicon in French within a professional context. The tool used to frame these activities is the WebQuest, based on the principles of socioconstructivism and focused on promoting learning by discovery, among other aims. Accordingly, the action research methodology and after the Webquest implementation with a group of university students taking the French for Specific Purposes subject in a professional context, the study results are presented. AbstractThis paper argues that Temple Grandin’s work serves as an intervention into the very framework of ‘disability.’Animals in Translationsuggests that the minds of people living with autism are ‘wired differently’; yet, this difference, Grandin makes clear, is by no means always a disadvantage. As a scientist in animal studies and a consultant for animal behavior, Grandin claims that persons on the autism spectrum may be ideally suited for understanding the animal mind. Edición crítica, problemas textuales y de autoría: métrica y ortología en Lope de Vega

Through examples taken from comedies recently attributed to Lope de Vega, this article deals with certain problems that should be considered when studying or editing plays of doubtful authorship. The analysis focuses on methods traditionally used to resolve problematic attributions, such as the study of versification, orthoepy and syllable counting. The conclusion argues that all of these tools —as well as the landmark works by Morley and Bruerton or W. Poesse — still offer great surprises and challenges for researchers. Thus, the development of new methods, such as stylometry, should not impel us to dismiss the classic approaches. Quite the opposite: old and new methods inform one another.

Le rituel irlandais de consécration des églises au Moyen Âge : le témoignage des sources irlandaises et bretonnes

L’étude du seul traité irlandais sur la consécration des églises (xie siècle) et sa comparaison avec les sacramentaires et ordines du viiie siècle permettent de relever des analogies avec la liturgie gallicane, mêlée de quelques éléments orientaux. La découverte d’un schéma de dédicace dans le ms 477 d’Angers (ixe siècle), d’origine bretonne (Landévennec) et d’influence irlandaise, confirme quant à elle les singularités du rituel irlandais : inscription d’un double alphabet latin sur le sol ; utilisation de psaumes de malédiction ; circumambulation de l’église en récitant des psaumes graduels. Resume Dans cette vaste periode de contestation que constituent les annees 68, des rencontres improbables se produisent. Celles-ci s’inscrivent dans la longue histoire des intellectuels desireux d’aller au peuple et notamment vers les ouvriers. Mais elles s’accelerent dans un certain nombre de mobilisations du debut des annees 1960. Atenuación con disminución prosódica significativa en géneros con distinto grado de planificación discursiva

AbstractoEste estudio analiza la frecuencia de grupos entonativos con disminución prosódica y atenuación pragmática en tres géneros discursivos del español: la conversación coloquial, la entrevista televisiva y el monólogo humorístico. En total, se han recogido 3365 grupos entonativos, de los que 237 han manifestado valores reducidos fónicamente; el criterio de discriminación ha sido que los valores de velocidad elocutiva, rango tonal o intensidad se distancien 1.65 desviaciones típicas de la media del hablante. Los datos indican que entre un 15 y un 20% de grupos entonativos por género utilizan disminuciones prosódicas y que, de ellos, la mitad corresponden a casos de atenuación pragmática…

In this article, we propose to sketch some working hypotheses around the problem of the use of television series in the teaching of the FLE, addressing in an interdisciplinary way the possible fields of exploitation of contemporary cinema. We will focus most of our observations on the use of cultural stereotypes and intercultural communication, considering their expanded exploitation and illustration in the American television series Emily in Paris (2020). The issue of personal and cultural identity will also be explored from the perspectives of new media usage.

AbstractThe experience of hearing one’s own voice during the act of speaking is a form of self-awareness and self-reflection that occurs in relation to and in interaction with the flow of experience, including the experience of other selves and their voices.
