Group-symmetric holomorphic functions on a Banach space

2016

We study the holomorphic functions on a complex Banach space E that are invariant under the action of a given group of operators on E. A great variety of situations occur depending, of course, on the group and the space. Nevertheless, in the examples we deal with, they can be described in terms of a few natural ones and functions of a finite number of variables. Fil: Aron, Richard. Feuilletages Riemanniens singuliers

2006

Abstract We prove that a singular foliation on a compact manifold admitting an adapted Riemannian metric for which all leaves are minimal must be regular. To cite this article: V. Miquel, R.A. Wolak, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 342 (2006).

Hitchhiker's guide to the fractional Sobolev spaces

2012

AbstractThis paper deals with the fractional Sobolev spaces Ws,p. We analyze the relations among some of their possible definitions and their role in the trace theory. We prove continuous and compact embeddings, investigating the problem of the extension domains and other regularity results. Most of the results we present here are probably well known to the experts, but we believe that our proofs are original and we do not make use of any interpolation techniques nor pass through the theory of Besov spaces. We also present some counterexamples in non-Lipschitz domains.

Compactifying Torus Fibrations Over Integral Affine Manifolds with Singularities

2021

This is an announcement of the following construction: given an integral affine manifold B with singularities, we build a topological space X which is a torus fibration over B. The main new feature of the fibration X → B is that it has the discriminant in codimension 2.

A special Calabi–Yau degeneration with trivial monodromy

2021

A well-known theorem of Kulikov, Persson and Pinkham states that a degeneration of a family of K3-surfaces with trivial monodromy can be completed to a smooth family. We give a simple example that an analogous statement does not hold for Calabi–Yau threefolds.

The horospherical Gauss-Bonnet type theorem in hyperbolic space

2006

We introduce the notion horospherical curvatures of hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space and show that totally umbilic hypersurfaces with vanishing cur- vatures are only horospheres. We also show that the Gauss-Bonnet type theorem holds for the horospherical Gauss-Kronecker curvature of a closed orientable even dimensional hypersurface in hyperbolic space. + (i1) by using the model in Minkowski space. We introduced the notion of hyperbolic Gauss indicatrices slightly modified the definition of hyperbolic Gauss maps. The notion of hyperbolic indicatrices is independent of the choice of the model of hyperbolic space. Using the hyperbolic Gauss indicatrix, we defined the principal hyperbolic curv…

Recurrence and genericity

2003

We prove a C^1-connecting lemma for pseudo-orbits of diffeomorphisms on compact manifolds. We explore some consequences for C^1-generic diffeomorphisms. For instance, C^1-generic conservative diffeomorphisms are transitive.

Tensor products of Fréchet or (DF)-spaces with a Banach space

1992

Abstract The aim of the present article is to study the projective tensor product of a Frechet space and a Banach space and the injective tensor product of a (DF)-space and a Banach space. The main purpose is to analyze the connection of the good behaviour of the bounded subsets of the projective tensor product and of the locally convex structure of the injective tensor product with the local structure of the Banach space.
