Multifunctions determined by integrable functions
2019
Integral properties of multifunctions determined by vector valued functions are presented. Such multifunctions quite often serve as examples and counterexamples. In particular it can be observed that the properties of being integrable in the sense of Bochner, McShane or Birkhoff can be transferred to the generated multifunction while Henstock integrability does not guarantee it.
Cone conditions and quasiconformal mappings
1988
Let f be a quasiconformal mapping of the open unit ball B n = {x ∈ R n : | x | < l× in euclidean n-space R n onto a bounded domain D in that space. For dimension n= 2 the literature of geometric function theory abounds in results that correlate distinctive geometric properties of the domain D with special behavior, be it qualitative or quantitative, on the part of f or its inverse. There is a more modest, albeit growing, body of work that attempts to duplicate in dimensions three and above, where far fewer analytical tools are at a researcher’s disposal, some of the successes achieved in the plane along such lines. In this paper we contribute to that higher dimensional theory some observati…
Non-Periodic Systems with Continuous Diffraction Measures
2015
The present state of mathematical diffraction theory for systems with continuous spectral components is reviewed and extended. We begin with a discussion of various characteristic examples with singular or absolutely continuous diffraction, and then continue with a more general exposition of a systematic approach via stationary stochastic point processes. Here, the intensity measure of the Palm measure takes the role of the autocorrelation measure in the traditional approach. We furthermore introduce a ‘Palm-type’ measure for general complex-valued random measures that are stationary and ergodic, and relate its intensity measure to the autocorrelation measure.
