The research investigated whether a bilinguals’ second language (L2) is activated during a task involving only the first language (L1). We tested the hypothesis that the amount of L2 interference can vary across settings, with less interference occurring in testing locations where L2 is rarely used. In Experiment 1, we compared language processing for 50 Arabic–English bilinguals tested in Saudi Arabia and 49 Arabic–English tested in the United States. Objective: To examine cognitive deficits and associated brain activity in fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS) patients with parkinsonism (FXTp+), in relation to FXTAS patients without parkinsonism (FXTp-), and normal elderly controls (NC). Methods: Retrospective reviews were performed in 65 FXTAS patients who participated in the event-related brain potential (ERP) study and also had either a videotaped neurological examination or a neurological examination for extrapyramidal signs. Šī darba devums kapu pētīšanā ir dažādās valodās rakstītu uzrakstu tulkošana un salīdzināšana. Darba uzdevumi ir: izanalizēt, kā kultūras teorētiķu darbos atspoguļota mirušo pieminēšana, aprakstīt un sagrupēt kapu pētīšanas laikā savāktos materiālus, salīdzināt iegūtos rezultātus. The Concealed Information Test (CIT) has been used in the laboratory as well as in field applications to detect concealed crime related memories. The presentation of crime relevant details to guilty suspects has been shown to elicit enhanced N200 and P300 amplitudes of the event-related brain potentials (ERPs) as well as greater skin conductance responses (SCRs) as compared to neutral test items. These electrophysiological and electrodermal responses were found to incrementally contribute to the validity of the test, thereby suggesting that these response systems are sensitive to different psychological processes. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot kādas saistības pastāv starp depresijas simptomiem un darba atmiņu. Šī darba teorētiskajā daļā tika apkopota informācija par depresijas saistībām ar darba atmiņu. Pētījuma izlase sastāv no vispārējās populācijas (N=171). Šī pētījuma ietvaros tika ievākti demogrāfiskie dati, kā arī tika izmantota jaunizveidotā Depresijas Simptomu aptauja (Vanags, 2020), kura sastāv no 65 dažādiem apgalvojumiem un ietver sevī plašu klāstu depresijas simptomu, kā arī tika izmantots Ciparu Atmiņas tests (Vanags & Ekmanis, 2018), kura mērījumi attiecināmi uz dažādiem darba atmiņas aspektiem kā uzmanības efektivitāti, darba atmiņas kapacitāti, informācijas atjaunināšana un pārslēgš…
