Indigenous Research and Romantic Nationalism
2016
In recent years, “indigenous research” and “indigenous methods” have become prominent themes in the general field of qualitative methodology. These ideas and their implications raise serious questions for the wider conduct of social research. We will outline some of those ideas, subjecting them to scrutiny, and ultimately using them to question the rise of Romanticism in contemporary social methodology. We develop these ideas to question the contemporary emphasis on the personal and the experiential in current methodological commentary.
How to find information on national food and nutrient consumption surveys across Europe: systematic literature review and questionnaires to selected …
2009
The present research was conducted within the framework of the EURopean micronutrient RECommendations Aligned project. In order to identify the best practice in assessing nutrient intakes, a search strategy for collecting data from national food consumption surveys/studies in Europe was developed. Systematic literature searches were carried out on twenty-eight European and the four European Free Trade Association countries. A questionnaire was also sent to two to five experts in each country. Systematic reviews using PubMed yielded 12 703 abstracts that were reduced to 200 studies using inclusion and exclusion criteria. Similarly, a search of ministry web sites yielded 3033 hits, and subseq…
Estudio comparativo de dos metodologías aplicadas para la comprensión de la música contemporánea en la educación secundaria obligatoria
2016
In this paper we try to discover which methodology is more appropriate for the comprehension of the contemporary music in the Secondary Education. For that purpose by a quasi-experiment, mixed, qualitative and quantitative, the preserved results through the application of two different methodologies have been compared: a traditional one base on the masterly class and another based in different kinds of audition. The obtained results after the didactical application on the quantitative level weren´t significant, however, on the qualitative level we could also observe that the pupils who subjected to that methodology had more advantageous results regarding to the comprehension of the contempo…
Parallelismi e inversioni: l’impensato del semiologo
2022
The emphasis on the search for a method identifies Semiotics among human sciences. One of the guiding principles of this search is poeticness, conceived as a core mechanism of meaning-making structures. As Jakobson, Lévis-Strauss and, finally, with its exemplar analysis of Maupassant, Greimas illustrate, looking for parallelisms and inversions between expression and content is one of the most marking traits of Semiotic methodology. In order to clarify this point, the article resumes a previous semiotic analysis of Paolo Conte’s song Pittori della domenica, a text with manifest poetic features. The objective is not to articulate further what previously found, but to illuminate the underlying…
Housing affordability nelle regioni urbane. Una proposta metodologica per definire il reddito soglia
2018
Within context of urban disintegration and social fragmentation, the concept of post-metropolis induces to critically consider the typical dichotomy between centre and periphery. Even in marginal areas where metropolis did not develop according to traditional stages and classical models, the traditional analytical categories are no longer able to interpret the widespread phenomenon of regional urbanization. In any case, the large urban regions are recognized by some authors not only as driving-force of the global economy, but also as the main sources of inequality and of social/environmental injustice; places where the gap between high and low income of social groups has been exacerbated. I…

An Approach for the Design of Self-conscious Agent for Robotics
2010
Developing complex robotic systems endowed with self- conscious abilities and subjective experience is a hard requirement to face at design time. This paper deals with the development of robotic systems that do not own any a-priori knowledge of the environment they live in and proposes an agent-orientd design process for modelling and implementing such a systems by means of implementing the perception loop occurring between environment, body and brain during subjective experience. A case study dealing with a robocup setup is proposed in order to describe the design process activities and to illustrate the techniques for making the robot able to autonomously decide when an unknown situations…
Metamodel-based metrics for agent-oriented methodologies
2012
A great number of methodologies has been already intro duced in the agent-oriented software engineering field. Recently many of the authors of these methodologies also worked on their fragmentation thus obtaining portions (often called method or process fragments) that may be composed into new methodologies. The great advancement in this field, however does not correspond to equivalent results in the evaluation of the methodologies and their fragments. It is, for instance, difficult to select a fragment in the composition of a new methodology and to predict the methodology’s resulting features. This work introduces a suite of metrics for evaluating and comparing entire methodologies but als…

Recensione del volume di Daniel Barbu, Philippe Borgeaud, Mélanie Lozat, Nicolas Meylan, Anne-Caroline Rendu Loisel (ed.), Le savoir des religions : fragments d'historiographie religieuse. Gallion: Infolio Editions, 2014.
