The literature on inequality has generally focused on the analysis of annual per capita income. This paper adopts a different approach by considering the life-cycle dimension of inequality and convergence between economies from 1960 to 2000. We analyze the present value of the set of incomes individuals obtain throughout their whole life (permanent income). On the basis of this approach, various simulations are made to determine the effect on inequality in permanent income of variables such as survival rates and the long-run growth rates in current income. Normalized convolution techniques operate on very few samples of a given digital signal and add missing information, trough spatial interpolation. From a practical viewpoint, they make use of data really available and approximate the assumed values of the missing information. We establish some fixed point theorems for mappings satisfying Geraghty-type contractive conditions in the setting of partial metric spaces and ordered partial metric spaces. Presented theorems extend and generalize many existing results in the literature. Common fixed points in cone metric spaces

In this paper we consider a notion of g-weak contractive mappings in the setting of cone metric spaces and we give results of common fixed points. This results generalize some common fixed points results in metric spaces and some of the results of Huang and Zhang in cone metric spaces.

From metric spaces to partial metric spaces

Motivated by experience from computer science, Matthews (1994) introduced a nonzero self-distance called a partial metric. He also extended the Banach contraction principle to the setting of partial metric spaces. In this paper, we show that fixed point theorems on partial metric spaces (including the Matthews fixed point theorem) can be deduced from fixed point theorems on metric spaces. New fixed point theorems on metric spaces are established and analogous results on partial metric spaces are deduced. MSC:47H10, 54H25.

We prove a result on points of coincidence and common fixed points for three self-mappings satisfying generalized contractive type conditions in cone metric spaces. We deduce some results on common fixed points for two self-mappings satisfying contractive type conditions in cone metric spaces. These results generalize some well-known recent results.
