2018

The proposal aims to highlight the self-representations of homeless – economic migrant who transform the personal project of a different life in Italy in an exercise of survival. This modifies the perception of the self through the subversion of specific categories of «presentified time» and space de- limited by their skills of perceiving their immediate surrounding space as a branch of their own bodies. The reflection focuses on the effects of experience of 47 migrants interviewed in two different mo- ments and after almost two years after the first interview. The focus of research is an analysis of concept of abjection as self-perception of an irreversible degradation condition that block…

2012

The essay analyzes how the Wes…

Barriers to Sport Participation Faced by Ethiopian and Eritrean Migrant Women in Switzerland

2021

Global migration (both forced and voluntary) has intensified the interaction between existing and emerging cultures. Sport has gained recognition as an effective tool for enhancing migrants’ overall wellbeing, active participation, and social integration. However, a growing number of studies have shown that migrant women have the lowest rate of sport participation, especially in organized clubs. These findings have brought the accessibility and inclusion of existing sport structure and culture in host countries into question. Using the six-factor model of constraints by Tsai and Coleman (1999), this study explored the barriers that hinder Ethiopian and Eritrea migrant women (EEMW) from part…

Separated Children’s Migration in the Mediterranean Sea. An Ethnohistorical Perspective

2016

In the imaginary of Italian people, the Island of Lampedusa (Italy) has always been considered a paradise destination for summer holidays. The beauty of this small island at the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, far from big harbors and cities, with its rich biodiversity and unspoilt nature, has made it a national and international tourist attraction. However, in recent years its name become associated with scenes of tragic, desperate journeys made by people of different origins trying to reach Europe from North African coasts. This shift exists not only in Italian people’s perception, but also all over the world, as the news related to Lampedusa and other Italian areas affected by this pheno…

Favoreggiamento dell’immigrazione irregolare vs. traffico di migranti: una dicotomia rilevante nell’interpretazione dell’art. 12 TUI? (Ragionando su …

2022
