The first formal distinction between human smuggling and trafficking in international law was made with the signing in December 2000 of the Palermo Protocols. These definitions have influenced and shaped most of the academic research, discourse, methodology and language on human smuggling and trafficking. In turn, an understanding of the formal definitions of these crimes is necessary to appreciate their influence on policies and therefore their effects on the individuals and institutions involved (Campana and Varese, 2015). This article focuses on skilled migration flows from Southern Europe into Mexico. From semi-structured interviews with Spanish and Italian immigrants living in four Mexican cities of Mexico, it addresses both reasons for immigration and labour incorporation in Mexican labour markets. Specifically, it explores: i) the role of the economic crisis and the lack of good employment in the countries of origin as a key factor when deciding an international migration; ii) the employment opportunities offered in Mexican labour markets for the highly-skilled immigrants, and iii) the role played by the Mexican state and its current immigration law when channelling this group into the labour market
Al2O3 ALD films grown using TMA + rare isotope 2H216O and 1H218O precursors

In this work hydrogen and oxygen migration and exchange reactions in the atomic layer deposited (ALD) Al2O3 thin films were studied together with hydrogen incorporation by varying deposition parameters. Al2O3 films deposited at low temperatures can contain more than 20 at. % of hydrogen. Both higher temperature and longer purge length decrease the hydrogen and carbon concentrations significantly. In order to track the hydrogen and oxygen movement in the films, heavy water (2H216O) and oxygen-18 enriched water (1H218O) were used as precursors in combination with trimethylaluminium (TMA). David Hoffman tutki väitöstyössään suomalaisessa korkeakoulujärjestelmässä työskentelevien akateemisten siirtolaisten näkökulmia ja kokemuksia. Tutkimus toi esiin tärkeitä haasteita liittyen suomalaisen väestön nopeaan ikääntymiseen ja kansainväliseen muuttoliikkeeseen. Hoffmanin analyysi tunnisti tieteenaloja, joilla akateeminen liikkuvuus on vahvaa sekä aloja, joilla se on lähes olematonta. This article analyzes the results of foreign and domestic scientists in the field of labor migration and the factors of this phenomenon. Based on previous researches, factors have been grouped into four main categories, which include all areas of life of existing and potential migrants, such as economic and political, social and climatic. Labor migration is constantly growing. Thus, according to the UN estimates, the number of migrant workers in the world in 2019 amounted to 272 million people, ie 3.5 % of the population, compared to 2010, the figure increased by 56.25 %.
