This paper presents a novel monitoring architecture addressed to the cloud provider and the cloud consumers. This architecture offers a monitoring platform-as-a-Service to each cloud consumer that allows to customize the monitoring metrics. The cloud provider sees a complete overview of the infrastructure whereas the cloud consumer sees automatically her cloud resources and can define other resources or services to be monitored. This paper presents PMG-pro (present, model, generate and provide), a development method of service-based applications. With PMG-pro, the composition of heterogeneous pre-made services is done at model levels and thereby different executable software systems for different target platforms can be generated automatically. To illustrate the method, we present a case study of developing a service-based application in a smart home environment.

Collaboration and resource sharing have attracted a great interest among companies. Our contribution relates to this context, providing a decision-making support for companies. We propose a platform to facilitate resource sharing between collaborative companies, through a recommendation system. This system provides similar services that respond to a company’s needs. Innovation can provide sustainable competitive advantages to service companies that consider the absorption of external knowledge a key strategic issue. Using the four dimensions of absorptive capacity, this study examined the impact of absorptive capacity on innovation in service delivery processes and explored how this innovation influences business performance. Structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) were applied to a sample of 134 companies drawn from the Colombian tourism sector. Background In our proposed model, family members' perceptions of service quality in organisations improve communication about self-determination. In turn, family perceptions of communication openness have a positive relationship with self-determination attitudes of family members. Finally, these attitudes predict self-determination behaviours of individuals with intellectual disability, as reported by family members. Method We tested this model with a sample of 625 family members (196 using ‘day care services’ and 429 using ‘occupational services’).
