Hudožestvennoe ubranstvo cerkvej Valaamskogo monastryrâ XVII - načala XIX veka

2016

The collection of church art of the Valamo monastery belongs to worthy rarities. Due to the evacuation from Karelia to Finland, collection survived almost complete. Despite the fact that the collection is well known to specialists in Finland and Russia, the research processes is just beginning. Especially little information exists about the icons of earlier period than of the 18th century. Almost nothing is known about the number of them, neither origins nor something about the painters of them. Many icons of the 18th century from the Valamo’s collection decorated the monastery churches. For this reason, the focus of this dissertation is the decoration of the main interiors of the Cathedral…

Piesza Opolska Pielgrzymka na Jasną Górę

2018

Started on 17th August 1977 the Opole Walking Pilgrimage to Jasna Góra was a result of many centuries oftradition of dévotion to Our Lady ofCzęstochowa in the Opole region. After érection ofthe apostolic administration ofthe Opole Silesia in 1945 and Opole diocese 27 years later preparing the whole-diocese pilgrimage was impossible because oftwo factors: political context ofthe PPL and reluctance of bishop Franciszek Jop to provoke the government unfavourable towards the Church. Not before 1976, with bishop Jop being deadly sick, his auxiliary bishop - Wacław Wycisk let fr. Edmund Cisak (priest in Grodziec) to prepare the pilgrimage. On the starting day ofthe First Opole Walking Pilgrimage …

"II –Il monastero benedettino", in Bonacasa Carra RM, Schirò G, Vitale E, Manenti M, "Il Monastero benedettino di Monreale. Dati storico-archeologici…

2016

In the Norman hunting park dominating the Conca d'Oro, in the second half of the XII century the monumental complex of Monreale began as a rational unitary body, consisting of the royal palace, the Duomo and the Benedictine convent which, from 1176, housed hundred Cluniac monks of Cava de 'Tirreni, called here by King William II; a wall, originally equipped with twelve towers, protected the religious community from possible external attacks. The goal of the founder was the creation of a strong instrument for the Christianization of western Sicily - still predominantly Muslim -, and at the same time of a prestigious dynastic mausoleum, in the explicit intent to rival all previous sacred impe…
