In 2009 and 2010, approximately 2% of plants had disease symptoms, including initial leaflet chlorosis that later developed into necrotic spots and general necroses along the leaflet. Fruit production on affected plants was substantially reduced and necroses were also present. Total RNA was extracted from five symptomatic plant samples using the RNeasy Plant Mini Kit (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany) and analyzed by reverse transcription (RT)-PCR with specific primer pair: TR2F (5′ GAAGGACGAAGAGCGACTG 3′), and TR2R (5′ AAGGTAGGTATGCGTTTGC 3′) (1). 3D mosaic documentation using close range photogrammetry

The paper describes the close range photogrammetric survey of a roman mosaic stored at Regional Archaeological Museum “Antonino Salinas” in Palermo (Italy). The aim of the work is the production of a full-scale representation (scale 1:1) of the mosaic useful for documentation and restoration processes. The research has allowed evaluating limit and potentiality of image-based approach using photogrammetric and computer vision (Structure for Motion) techniques in a context where the metric point of view is a very important factor.

Fast Image Mosaicing for Panoramic Face Recognition

In this article, we present some development results of a system that performs mosaicing (or mosaicking) of panoramic faces. Our objective is to study the feasibility of panoramic face construction in real-time. To do so, we built a simple acquisition system composed of 5 standard cameras which, together, can take simultaneously 5 views of a face at different angles. Then, we chose an easily hardware-achievable algorithm, consisting of successive linear transformations, in order to compose a panoramic face from these 5 views. Restauro di una Chiesa Bizantina a En-Nitl in Giordana.

L'articolo descrive il progetto di restauro di due piccole Chiese. Dopo aver individuato la successione temporale delle strutture murarie, l’esame si è concentrato sul mosaico rinvenuto nella Chiesa principale, dedicata a San Sergio. Il progetto è suddiviso in tre fasi: la prima fase riguarda l’intervento di conservazione del mosaico pavimentale; la seconda fase prende in esame la copertura della Chiesa, con una tenda di quelle utilizzate dei beduini del deserto; la terza fase è dedicata al cantiere di restauro.

AbstractDuring the eleventh and twelfth centuries the Church began a process of renovation (renovatio) and the city of Rome was given new meanings. Antiquity is part of the identity of the Eternal City; the reuse or reframing of aspects of antiquity inevitably transformed the image of Rome. Public spaces, architecture and objects were given new Christian readings. Inscriptions, present both in sacred and secular settings, played an important role. Urban archaelogy is an important source of information in order to learn about the history and the culture of a town. The city of Palermo is a great example of a highly stratified area which is characterized by a complex urban and architectonic palimpsest. Promoting the knowledge, the conservation and the enhancement of its historical and archaeological urban sites is, therefore, central to rebuild the diachronic and diatopic dimension of the past, through the use of cognitive means and technical competences. This is the author's aim of the study.

After Golgi-Cajal mapped neural circuits, the discovery and mapping of the central monoamine neurons opened up for a new understanding of interneuronal communication by indicating that another form of communication exists. For instance, it was found that dopamine may be released as a prolactin inhibitory factor from the median eminence, indicating an alternative mode of dopamine communication in the brain.
