One of the main problems in the diffusion of power line communication (PLC) in medium voltage (MV) networks is the need of a dedicated PLC coupler to be installed all over the network. To avoid this problem, the authors have studied, prototyped and patented an innovative PLC coupling solution which uses electrical elements embedded in most of the switchgears already installed in MV networks, i.e. the capacitive dividers of the voltage detecting systems (VDS). Skala Niesprawności Neurologicznej Szpitala Guy (GNDS, The Guy’s Neurological Disability Scale) jest istotnym narzędziem służącym do pomiaru niepełnosprawności u osób ze stwardnieniem rozsianym. Służy ona do określenia poziomu funkcjonowania w dwunastu ważnych obszarach. Celem obecnych badań było opracowanie polskiej wersji językowej skali GNDS i sprawdzenie jej trafności, rzetelności oraz przydatności do oceny niepełnosprawności występującej u osób ze stwardnieniem rozsianym. Verb-Second and (micro)-variation in two Rhaeto-Romance varieties of Northern Italy.

Rhaeto-Romance varieties are the only present-day Romance varieties which exhibit the Verb Second constraint (Benincà 1994, Poletto 2002, Salvi 2010). In this chapter we examine two properties typically ascribed to the Verb Second phenomenon, subject-finite verb inversion and restrictions on the co-occurrence of multiple constituents in the sentence-initial position, in two Rhaeto-Romance varieties spoken in South Tyrol (Province of Bolzano, Northern Italy). CSMA/CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance) is actually the most used method in ad-hoc networks for transmitting on a contending medium, even if it shows poor performance in presence of hidden nodes. To increase performance, we propose an algorithm that combines CSMA and TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) approaches. The adopted solution consists of grouping contending nodes in non-interfering subsets and granting a different numbers of time slots to different groups, while using the CSMA to manage medium access among nodes belonging to the same subset.
