During the period 1995-1999, the Sala Parpalló was located in the Beneficència Cultural Center of Valencia, sharing the place with the spaces of the Museum of Prehistory, the Museum of Ethnology and the IVEI. In the investigation it exposed a technical file for each of the 57 self-produced exhibitions carried out in the period and a selection of the studies that accompanied them: the files are displayed chronologically according to the procedures used. The genus Trigonognathus Mochizuki and Ohe, 1990, is a monospecific taxon of `lantern sharks¿ (i.e., family Etmopteridae), a group of small-sized bioluminescent deep-sea chondrichthyans, ranging in mature male specimens between 42¿47 cm total length, and at least 52 cm for females (Ebert et al., 2021). This shark inhabits the upper continental slopes as well as the uppermost slope of seamounts, often at the bottom, at depths ranging between 250¿1000 m, but has been caught at 150 m and 270 m in deep open waters (Mochizuki and Ohe, 1990; Compagno et al., 2005; Ebert et al., 2021). El artículo aporta una reflexión sobre el panorama de los museos pedagógicos en España con dos visiones: la de la profesional de museos y la de quien se aproxima al museo para favorecer el encuentro entre enseñanza y patrimonio. A través de sus páginas, que cuentan con numerosos ejemplos sobre el funcionamiento de diferentes museos pedagógicos, se pone de relieve que éstos deben estar dirigidos a un amplio horizonte destinatario y para ello deben contar con diferentes niveles de lectura, porque no es incompatible tratar de dar vida a la historia escolar, ajustándose a la autenticidad y a los datos científicos y hacerlo de manera amena y didáctica para todos los públicos.

En España durante los últimos quince años y a causa de razones diversas, se han estado diseñando y construyendo multitud de centros de variada tipología. Estos híbridos entre el museo convencional y los equipamientos culturales basados en el concepto estadounidense de visitor’s center son semejantes al del museo pero sin necesidad de colección y por tanto, ni de conservador ni de legislación, por lo que su proliferación masiva se ha convertido en una realidad. Refiriéndonos a ellos como “paramuseos” en el presente artículo se hace un retrato de su implantación, características y de su inequívocamente reciente eclosión.
