Las formas cotidianas de la felicidad y sus mandatos: Pedagogías del pensamiento positivo, trabajo docente y subjetividad en el neoliberalismo contem…
2020
Positive thinking constitutes one of the great traditions that lead to the idea of the subject as an entrepreneur of himself and is perhaps one of the best that has successfully condensed cultural, political, social and pedagogical processes linked to reflection on well-being in this historical time. The teaching work is especially moved by the pregnancy of these perspectives that challenge the pedagogical field and the education workers as ?agents of change, or at least one more school available to give the discussion on well-being and happiness (yours and the students?) is celebrated and encouraged. In this article, I intend to understand what is being built as pedagogical discourses abou…
Roll-with-Participation. Il caso di ProMondello a Palermo
2018
This contribution is based on an ongoing experience in Palermo: a participatory process (ProMondello) aimed at producing a master plan. The specificity of ProMondello stems from the fact that the promoters of the process are neither social communities nor local administrations, which so far have only arranged highly questionable and easily exploitable processes. The second purpose is to expla…

2018
After toppling the 61-year dominant Barisan Nasional through a historic election victory in May 2018, expectations are high for the new ruling government led by Mahathir Mohamad and the Pakatan Harapan to fulfil their promises for socio-economic reforms and regime change in Malaysia. But what have been the institutions of the prevailing regime that need to be reformed and changed? This article offers a critical review of the evolving development agendas since the 1990s of the successive governments of Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah Badawi, and Najib Razak, each couched in different catchphrases: Wawasan 2020, Islam Hadhari, and 1Malaysia. A close reading of these programs suggests that their su…
