Abstract Tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether (tetraglyme) was used for the first time to induce the activation of silver nitrate resulting in the step-by-step formation of complexes with diallyldiphenylsilane (DADPS). Two crystal compounds of this series were examined by FTIR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The analysis of the obtained data showed that the Ag (C C) η 2 -interaction is involved in the synergistic effect of intra and intermolecular forces. In particular the interlayer π–π stacking interactions promoted by asymmetric weak Ag C(phenyl) bond have a significant influence on the thermal behavior and stability of the synthesized products. This study aims to investigate the depth distribution of the Nitrate Reduction Potential (NRP) on a natural and a re-established wetland. The obtained NRP provides a valuable data of the driving factors affecting denitrification, the Dissimilatory Nitrate Reduction to Ammonium (DNRA) process and the performance of a re-established wetland. This work evaluates N2O emission from maize-crop (Zea mays) fields submitted to different organic or mineral fertilizers (pig slurry, matured pig manure or ammonium nitrate) in Brittany (France). Atomic-absorption spectrometric determination of calcium, magnesium and potassium in leaf samples after decomposition with molten sodium hydroxide

Abstract The decomposition of standard leaf samples of varied origin and nature by fusion with sodium hydroxide in an open system has been studied. The use of sodium nitrate as an auxiliary agent facilitated the mineralization of most of the samples. The solutions obtained were analysed for calcium, magnesium and potassium by flame atomic-absorption spectrometry. The method is fast and quite precise, with absolute standard deviations of 0.04–0.13, 0.002-0.03 and 0.04–0.12% for calcium, magnesium and potassium contents of O.8-5.0, 0.13–0.48 and 0.36–2.2% respectively. The limits of detection (μg/ml) in the determination step were 0.10 for calcium, 0.011 for magnesium, and 0.09 for potassium.

Abstract Single phase mullite gels with composition 2Al 2 O 3 ·SiO 2 (2:1) were prepared by the slow hydrolysis method using aluminium nitrate nonahydrate and tetraethylorthosilicate as reagents. The evolution to mullite from gels was studied by infrared (IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Gels thermally treated under fast schedules showed mullite formation below 900 °C. Compositional and microstructural changes in 2:1 mullites through the range of temperature from 900 to 1600 °C were determined by the measurement of lattice parameters and field emission scanning electron microscopy. Aim To evaluate microleakage of a flowable composite used as a protective isolating base, applied with different adhesive systems. Methodology Seventy root-filled teeth were divided into seven groups. A flowable composite base (Tetric Flow Chroma) was used with three adhesive techniques (Syntac, Excite, Excite DCS; in the three cases with and without acid etching) and in a control group without dentine conditioning or adhesive placement.
