A high chromosomal abnormalities rate has been observed in human embryos derived from in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. The role of the distribution platform in price formation of paid apps

In this paper we study the role of the distribution platform as an important determinant of price of paid apps. We also examine how the distribution platform influences the price implications of important developers' app-level decisions. To these purposes, we construct a hierarchical model of price formation by using an ad-hoc panel dataset consisting of top paid apps from the two major app stores, namely Apple's App Store and Google Play. Our findings show that prices of paid apps strongly depend on the platform where the apps are marketed. Specifically, the App Store is associated with lower prices for paid apps than Google Play. Distributed Coverage of Ego Networks in F2F Online Social Networks

Although most online social networks rely on a centralized infrastructure, several proposals of Distributed Online Social Networks (DOSNs) have been recently presented. Since in DOSNs user profiles are stored on the peers of the users belonging to the network, one of the main challenges comes from guaranteeing the profile availability when the owner of the data is not online. [EN] This paper looks into the different evolution of students’ online questionnaire performance and its impact on the final examination mark. This innovative technique has been used in a group of an introductory financial accounting course with 8 online questionnaires (one per unit). Using cluster analysis, we identify different groups of performance evolution. The evidence obtained suggests that in one of this groups a favourable test performance evolution may lead to overconfidence with the subsequent negative effect on the final examination mark. Massive Open Online Courses for IFRS Education: A Point of view of Spanish Accounting Educators

Abstract This paper is based on a survey of 103 accounting educators from different universities of Spain on the use of MOOC, especially as regards teaching IFRS. The results show significant differences in three areas of opinion: i) the importance of the use of Internet and some Web tools for academic use; ii) general knowledge and perception of MOOCs; and iii) the opinions regarding the interest of MOOCs on IFRS.
