Abstract Papillary thyroid carcinoma is a slow-growing cancer with a generally good prognosis that sometimes have an aggressive behaviour. Metastases to neck lymph nodes is the first step of the diffusion. The central neck compartment is involved most commonly. The ipsilateral lateral neck compartments are usually involved afterwards, and the involvement of the contralateral one is considered a quite rare occurrence. The effect of a small bowel segment as a extrahepatic bile duct replacement was examined in 12 pigs followed-up for a period of 420 days. No complications, either during the operation or postoperatively, were observed in any of the animals. The laboratory parameters were within normal range over the entire observation period of 420 days. After 2, 6, and 12 months there was no anastomotic stenosis in the PTC. The intrahepatic biliary tract was not dilated. There was obvious peristalsis of the small bowel transplant towards the papilla of Vater. We analyzed the current practice in Italy regarding the surgical management of intermediate-risk unilateral DTC to evaluate risk factors for recurrence and to identify a group of patients to whom propose a total thyroidectomy (TT) vs. hemithyroidectomy (HT). Bakalaura darba mērķis noskaidrot dzemdes kakla vēža skrīninga programmas īstenošanu ģimenes ārsta praksē. Extramedullary hematopoiesis within endothelial papillary hyperplasia (Masson?s pseudoangiosarcoma) of the tongue

We report the unique association of Masson?s pseudoangiosarcoma (endothelial papillary hyperplasia) and extramedullary hematopoiesis. The lesion was present as a violaceous nodule on the side of the tongue of a 78-year-old man with history of multiple myeloma and long-standing mild anemia. This association between a peculiar form of thrombus organization and extramedullary hematopoiesis has been reported previously only once, in an infant with a cranial hematoma, and raises interesting pathogenetic questions.

Tēmas aktualitāte: Vakcīnas pret CPV lietošanai pieejamas pavisam nesen - Cervarix no 2007. gada un Gardasil no 2006. Nedrošumu par vakcinācijām rada ziņojumi no dažādām valstīm par blakusparādībām. Šie ziņojumi var ietekmē Latvijas iedzīvotāju viedokli un turpmāko vēlmi vakcinēties. Tā kā ir grūtības atrast datus par sabiedrības viedokli Latvijā, savā darbā mēģināšu izpildīt šo uzdevumu. Pētījuma mērķis: Noskaidrot vecāku viedokli par vakcināciju pret cilvēka papilomas vīrusu, un atrast iemeslus, kādēļ vecāki atsakās vakcinēt savas meitas, lai rastu risinājumus, kā uzlabot vakcinācijas aptveri Latvijā.
