Ambienti, culture, patrimoni. Politiche e pratiche di tutela - Abstract
The complexity and instability of the current historical situation that characterizes the social and political life of our country, as well as the rapid socio-cultural transformations imposed by globalization, lead us to believe that an articulated and frequent confrontation between social sciences and public administration managers and bureaucratic systems is increasingly necessary and useful to respond to the new needs in the field of territorial and landscape planning. The critical issues regarding the management, enhancement and safeguarding of protected areas (be they environmental, landscape or archaeological) have inevitably been overshadowed and in some cases aggravated by the arriv…
Genetics and epigenetics in Parkinson´s disease
2014

MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING–GUIDED FOCUSED ULTRASOUND THALAMOTOMY IN PATIENT WITH TREMOR COMBINED WITH PARKINSONISM: RETREATMENT AFTER BENEFIT DECAY
2019
Background In recent years, transcranial Magnetic Resonance-guided Focused UltraSounds (tcMRgFUS) treatments for functional neurological disorders are giving a new thrust to the field of therapeutic brain lesioning. This technique has been proven safe and effective in selected patients. Here we present the case of a patient affected by tremor combined with parkinsonism who underwent a second tcMRgFUS thalamotomy because of relapsing tremor after a few months from the first tcMRgFUS treatment. Materials and Methods A 72-year-old, right-handed man, who came to our observation because of a disabling tremor affecting mainly his upper right limb and refusing any invasive surgical procedure. His …

Are fossils enough? Palaeontological tourism based on local dinosaur discoveries
2020
Fossils of dinosaurs and other tetrapods have long aroused interest of scientists and the public opinion alike. Every finding of a new (especially large) species receives coverage in national and international media, and thus, local fossil discoveries might constitute a good basis for local tourism development. The paper aims to examine whether fossiliferous sites on their own may be enough for the development of palaeontological tourism to occur, or do they require the support of additional amusement infrastructure. For this purpose, the interest in chosen localities was analysed using Google and Wikipedia searches, and was further discussed against a survey on dinoparks and their elements…
Insights on Hydrothermal‐Magmatic Interactions and Eruptive Processes at Poás Volcano (Costa Rica) From High‐Frequency Gas Monitoring and Drone Measu…
2019
Texto completo del documento Identification of unambiguous signals of volcanic unrest is crucial in hazard assessment. Processes leading to phreatic and phreatomagmatic eruptions remain poorly understood, inhibiting effective eruption forecasting. Our 5‐year gas record from Poás volcano, combined with geophysical data, reveals systematic behavior associated with hydrothermal‐magmatic eruptions. Three eruptive episodes are covered, each with distinct geochemical and geophysical characteristics. Periods with larger eruptions tend to be associated with stronger excursions in monitoring data, particularly in SO2/CO2 and SO2 flux. The explosive 2017 phreatomagmatic eruption was the largest erupt…

Ecotourism and geotourism in Ukraine
2016
Cognitive nature tourism in Ukraine has a long tradition of development. Today, ecotourism, active forms of tourism, ethnographic trips and trips to historical and cultural destinations are mostly developed. The most popular offers come from national parks and other natural areas with preserved natural, historical and cultural environments. Among the regions with active forms of tourism, the Carpathian mountain region and the Crimea with a well-developed network of hiking and biking trails should be noted. Rafting on the Black Cheremosh, Prut, Southern Bug, Dniester, Desna, Sluch, Teteriv and other rivers is quite popular as well as trips to caves (in Podillia, the Carpathians and the Crime…
