El consentimiento en el proceso penal : ¿un oxímoron?

2021

We are involved in a moment of deep changes in Criminal Procedure due, among other reasons, to the permanent expansion of Criminal Law. Legislative modifications have taken place one another over the world and they have led to a functional reformulation of the role played by the protagonists of Criminal Procedure. These changes have not finished yet and the future is still to come, but new elements are already emerging: the consent of the actors of the process and of the victims and the reinforcement of the principle of opportunity are undoubtedly some of them. Probation, diversion, compliance, criminal mediation are institutions that stand on the principle of consent for procedural purpose…

Attuali orientamenti nella diagnosi e nel trattamento delle aderenze placentari patologiche: la nostra esperienza

2010

The abnormal adherence of the placenta is a disease characterized by an anomalous miometrial infiltration of Chorionic villi. This event blocks the regular detachment of placenta in post partum and sometimes a severe bleeding that causes the urgency of a caesarean section. In the past years the incidence of this pathology has increased to about 1 in 500/600 deliveries. The cause of abnormal adherence of placenta is unknown but there are some risk factors such as prior caesarean sections, women older than 35 years of age and placenta previa. The early diagnosis is very important and it can be done by Eco-Color-doppler (eventually associated with 3d technique) and Magnetic Resonance. Objectiv…

Specific transfer effects following variable priority dual-task training in older adults

2016

International audience; Purpose: Past divided attention training studies in older adults have suggested that variable priority training (VPT) tends to show larger improvement than fixed priority training (FPT). However, it remains unclear whether VPT leads to larger transfer effects. Methods: In this study, eighty-three older adults aged between 55 and 65 received five 1-hour sessions of VPT, FPT or of an active placebo. VPT and FPT subjects trained on a complex dual-task condition with variable stimulus timings in order to promote more flexible and self-guided strategies with regard to attentional priority devoted to the concurrent tasks. Real-time individualized feedback was provided to e…

Randomized placebo-controlled trial comparing desloratadine and montelukast in monotherapy and desloratadine plus montelukast in combined therapy for…

2004

BACKGROUND: H 1 -receptor antagonists are considered to be particularly effective in reducing pruritus, and they are therefore recommended as first-line treatment in patients with chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU). Recently, antileukotriene receptors have been used in patients with CIU, either administered as monotherapy or combined with H 1 -receptor antagonists. OBJECTIVE: We compared the clinical efficacy of 5 mg of desloratadine administered once daily either as monotherapy or combined with a leukotriene antagonist, 10 mg of montelukast daily, and 10 mg of montelukast administered daily as monotherapy for the treatment of patients affected by CIU with placebo. METHODS: One hundred sixt…

Effect of undersized drilling on the stability of immediate tapered implants in the anterior maxillary sector. A randomized clinical trial.

2020

Background To evaluate the effect of undersized drilling on the primary and secondary stability of immediate implants placed in the anterior maxilla. Material and Methods A comparative randomized clinical trial was carried out in 30 healthy adults. Thirty tapered implants, 16 involving conventional drilling and 14 undersized drilling, were placed immediately after anterior maxillary tooth removal. Insertion torque and implant stability assessed by resonance frequency analysis (RFA) were evaluated at three different timepoints: at implant placement and 6 and 12 weeks post-implantation. The results were compared using parametric statistical tests. Results All implants showed adequate stabilit…

Monosodium benzoate hypersensitivity in subjects with persistent rhinitis

2004

Background:  Very few data are available from the literature on whether nonatopic subjects affected by persistent rhinitis may show the appearance of objective symptoms of rhinitis after the ingestion of food additives such as tartrazine (E102), erythrosine (E127), monosodium benzoate (E211), p-hydroxybenzoate (E218), sodium metabisulphite (E223), and monosodium glutamate (E620). It is still unclear whether the ingestion of food additive may cause, as well, a consensual reduction of nasal peak inspiratory flow (NPIFR). Therefore, we used a double-blind placebo-controlled (DBPC) study to evaluate this hypothesis. Patients and methods:  Two hundred and twenty-six consecutive patients (76 male…

Comparing subjective intoxication with risky single-occasion drinking in a European sample.

2020

In most epidemiological literature, harmful drinking—a drinking pattern recognized as closely linked to alcohol-attributable diseases—is recorded using the measure risky single-occasion drinking (RSOD), which is based on drinking above a certain quantity. In contrast, subjective intoxication (SI) as an alternative measure can provide additional information, including the drinker’s subjective perceptions and cultural influences on alcohol consumption. However, there is a lack of research comparing both. The current article investigates this comparison, using data from the Standardized European Alcohol Survey from 2015. We analysed the data of 12,512 women and 12,516 men from 17 European coun…

Vertical guided bone regeneration with bioabsorbable barriers.

2007

Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a very useful surgical technique to increase limited alveolar bone for implant placement. The use of non-resorbable barriers is well established; however, bioabsorbable collagen membranes may simplify the surgical technique and make it more predictable.Vertical ridge augmentation was performed on 11 patients at the time of implant placement. The part of the implant out of bone was covered with autogenous bone/graft, and a slow-resorption collagen membrane was placed on top. Gingival tissues were closed with horizontal mattress and interrupted sutures. Second-stage surgery was performed 4 to 6 months later, and healing abutments were placed. The length of th…

Implant treatment planning regarding augmentation procedures: panoramic radiographs vs. cone beam computed tomography images.

2015

Objectives To evaluate the impact of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging on treatment planning regarding augmentation procedures for implant placement. Material and methods Panoramic radiographs and CBCT images of 40 patients requesting single-tooth implants in 59 sites were retrospectively analyzed by six specialists in implantology, and treatment planning was performed. Therapeutic recommendations were compared with the surgical protocol performed initially. Results Bone height estimation from panoramic radiographs yielded to higher measures and greater variability compared to CBCT. The suggested treatment plan for lateral and vertical augmentation procedures based on CBCT or pan…
