Palermo è la fonte privilegiata della sua profusione poetica, a tal punto che dodici delle poesie sulla Sicilia, parte della sezione Les Climats e della raccolta Les Vivants et le Morts (1913), quattro hanno come tema Palermo e altre tre fanno del capoluogo siciliano la tela di fondo.
