Apparent and quantitative loss of fatty acids and triacylglycerols at frying temperatures

[EN]: Olive and sunflower oils were heated at 180 °C for 5, 10 and 15 hours with the aim of defining the changes in the contents of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) and triacylglycerols (TAG) under frying conditions. Differences between apparent and real loss of FAME or TAG are defined for an adequate interpretation of the changes taking place at high temperature. Such differences depend on the expression of the results and frequently result in erroneous conclusions. Results showed that from the normalized composition it could be deduced that only the most unsaturated FAME (C18:2) or TAG containing it was significantly altered. Se encontro un deterioro perimetrico en indices y escotomas. We deal with a new automated three-dimensional inspection system based on polarization analysis. We first present an extension of the shape-from-polarization method for dielectric surfaces to metallic surfaces. Analysis of FBG reflection spectra under uniform and non-uniform transverse loads

Loads applied transversely on the external surface of waveguides change their circular cross-sectional geometry generating birefringence. Due to this effect the reflected spectrum of a Fibre Bragg grating (FBG) undergoes a splitting of the single peak of the Bragg wavelength. In this work, we employed the Transfer Matrix Method (TMM) for x- and y-polarized wave-modes to model the uniform FBG reflection spectra for uniform and non-uniform transverse loads. Celem prowadzonych badań była ocena podatności stali DC01 na niszczenie wodorowe. Badania odporności stali DC01 na niszczące działanie wodoru zrealizowano w oparciu o próbę statycznego rozciągania (slow strain) próbek w powietrzu oraz po polaryzacji katodowej. Wodorowanie stali zrealizowano w wodnym roztworze 0,1N kwasu siarkowego(VI) z dodatkiem 2 mg/dm3 tlenku arsenu(III) jako promotora wnikania wodoru przy gęstości prądu 10 i 20 mA/cm2 w czasie od 3 do 24 godzin. Pētījuma mērķis ir uzzināt kā izpaužas ASV un Apvienotās Karalistes sabiedrību politiskā polarizācija un kādi ir tās kopējie cēloņi. Pētījuma teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkots politisko uzskatu veidošanās process un tā ietekmējošie faktori, elites polarizācija un masu polarizācija. Šis pētījums fokusējas uz masu polarizāciju. Transport and extraction of radioactive ions stopped in superfluid helium

A new approach to convert a high energy beam to a low energy one, which is essential for the next generation radioactive ion beam facilities, has been proposed and tested at Jyvaskyla, Finland. An open Ra-223 alpha-decay-recoil source has been used to produce radioactive ions in superfluid helium. The alpha spectra demonstrate that the recoiling Rn-219 ions have been extracted out of liquid helium. This first observation of the extraction of heavy positive ions across the superfluid helium surface was possible thanks to the high sensitivity of radioactivity detection. Envelopes for sets and functions II: generalized polarity and conjugacy

International audience; Let X,Y be two nonempty sets, Φ an extended real-valued bivariate coupling function on X × Y and Γ a subset of X × Y. The present paper provides extensions to the well-known generalized Φ-conjugacy and Γ-polarity of diverse results of our previous work [2] related to φ-conjucacy and Λ-polarity, where Λ is a subset of a vector space E and φ is a function on E defining the particular coupling function (x,y)→φ(x−y) on E × E. A particular attention is devoted to the conjugacy functions (resp. polarity sets) which are mutually generating. Finally, for a superadditive conjugacy function Φ, we obtain a full description of the class of Φ-envelopes.
