Edible mushrooms are a food source with interesting nutritional values. The chief objective of this research was to develop a consistent method for the quantitative ultra-trace analysis of Pt in mushrooms, which is complex because it cannot be readily quantified by common analytical procedures. This paper reports on some results of two surveys at sea carried out in the surroundings of a urban wastewater discharge on the coast of the Golfo di Palermo, western Sicily (Italy). At the time of the surveys (year 2005) the stretch of water lying before the central part of the capital town received the untreated wastewater originating from about 200 000 inhabitants, which was discharged on-shore without any prior treatment by the free-surface outfall of “Porta Felice main sewer”. Celem pracy było rozpoznanie wpływu zanieczyszczeń komunikacyjnych na glebę i roślinność uprawnianą przy pasie drogowym. Zanieczyszczenia te, to nie tylko spaliny, ale również pyły powstające w wyniku tarcia opon o nawierzchnie drogi, płyny wyciekające z nieszczelnych instalacji oraz śmieci wyrzucane przez kierowców w trakcie jazdy. Roślina bytująca w takim środowisku, jest narażona na liczne stresy i uszkodzenia. Główną przyczyną wpływającą niekorzystnie na rozwój roślin, a nawet powodującą ich śmierć, jest potęgujące się stale zanieczyszczenie powietrza, zwłaszcza w rejonach śródmiejskich jak i wzdłuż obciążonych tras komunikacyjnych. Gaisa kvalitātes novērtējums Balvos ar lihenoindikācijas metodi

Bakalaura darbā „Gaisa kvalitātes novērtējums Balvos ar lihenoindikācijas metodi” tiek apkopots materiāls par gaisa piesārņojuma pakāpi, to veidiem un ietekmējošiem faktoriem Balvu pilsētā, kā arī ķērpju vispārīgu raksturojumu un metodēm, kas tiek pielietotas bioindikācijā. Darbā tika novērtēta Balvu pilsētas gaisa kvalitāte ar 5 ķērpju indikatorsugām, kas tika izmantotās kā bioindikatori. Pilsētas teritorija tika iedalīta 26 kvadrātos. Lielākajā pilsētas teritorijā ir zems gaisa piesārņojums- 45%, tīrs gaiss ir 40% un vidējs gaisa piesārņojums - 15%.
