Bei vernetzten Copolymeren aus athylvinylbenzol/Divinylbenzol sowie Vinylacetat/Divinyladipat wird der Einflus der Herstellungsbedingungen auf die Eigenschaften der vernetzten Polymeren untersucht. Homogen-vernetzte Gele eignen sich vor allem zur Trennung von Oligomeren; mit heterogen-vernetzten Gelen konnen Polymere getrennt werden. Es wird gezeigt, das bei der heterogen-vernetzenden Polymerisation die Heterogenitat der Copolymeren mit sinkendem Solvatationsvermogen der Inertkomponente wachst; dies fuhrt gleichzeitig zu einer Erhohung des Aussechlusmolekulargewichtes. Photoactive Hybrid Materials based on Conjugated Porous Polymers and Inorganic Nanoparticles

This review explores the current state‐of‐the‐art for functional photoactive hybrids containing inorganic nanoparticles (magnetic and metal) and conjugated organic porous polymers (CPPs). Albeit new in the field, with the first hybrid material of this kind reported in 2012, those materials have gained increasing interest in applications such as sensing, heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, and lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). Functionalization of P3HT with Various Mono- and Multidentate Anchor Groups

Due to its favorable optoelectronic properties and the accessibility via Grignard metathesis (GRIM) polymerization, poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) is one of the most applied conjugated polymers. The ‘living' nature of GRIM polymerization enables the modification of the polymer and the installation of desired properties. In the present study, two versatile approaches for the synthesis of anchor group-modified P3HT have been developed, which enable the functionalization of various inorganic nanoparticles. Probing the Folding of Peptide–Polymer Conjugates Using the π-Dimerization of Viologen End-Groups

The synthesis of a foldable viologen-functionalized peptide–polymer conjugate is presented. The ABA-type triblock conjugate with a PEG polymer was capped with a FHFHF pentapeptide sequence and further modified with a viologen building block at both chain ends. The pH-responsive peptide domains fold into an intermediate structure inducing close proximity of the viologen units, which upon a reduction step form π-dimers of the radical cation. Bidirectional Chemo-Switching of Spin State in a Microporous Framework

The ins and outs of spin: Using the microporous coordination polymer {Fe(pz)[Pt(CN)(4)]} (1, pz=pyrazine), incorporating spin-crossover subunits, two-directional magnetic chemo-switching is achieved at room temperature. In situ magnetic measurements following guest vapor injection show that most guest molecules transform 1 from the low-spin (LS) state to the high-spin (HS) state, whereas CS(2) uniquely causes the reverse HS-to-LS transition.

Speciation of organic matter in natural waters. Interaction of polyacrylates with the major cation components of seawater

The speciation of some high molecular weight polycarboxylates was studied in different ionic media. Polyacrylates here investigated (W=2.0, 5.1 and 20.0 kDa) form weak species with alkali metal cations (K=102 mol l1, t=25 jC, I=0 mol l1) and quite stable complexes with alkaline earth metal cations (K>106 mol l1, t=25 jC, I=0 mol l1). Results are reported from experiments performed in a multicomponent electrolyte solution simulating the major composition of seawater (artificial seawater). Computational modeling of molecularly imprinted polymers as a green approach to the development of novel analytical sorbents

Abstract The development of novel molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP) sorbents for specific chemical compounds require a lot of tedious and time-consuming laboratory work. Significant quantities of solvents and reagents are consumed in the course of the verification of appropriate configurations of polymerization reagents. Implementation of molecular modeling in the MIP sorbent development process appears to provide a solution to this problem. Appropriate simulations and computations facilitate the determination of the nature of interaction between the reagents and thus the selection of the best configuration of chemicals for the preparation of the sorbent.
