ChemInform Abstract: 1-Alkyl- and Azeto[1,2-a][1,5]benzodiazepine Derivatives in the Reaction of o-Phenylenediamine with 3-(Dimethylamino)propiopheno…

2001

The reaction of o-phenylenediamine (4) with one, two or three equivalents of p-substituted 3-dimethylaminopropiophenone hydrochlorides 5a−e was studied. 4-Aryl-2,3-dihydro-1H-1,5-benzodiazepine derivatives 6a−e were obtained in good yields, along with the 1:2-adducts 7c−e and the unexpected 1:3-adducts rac-8c−e. The type of adduct formed is determined by the molar ratio of the reactants 4 and 5 and by the nature of the substituent in the para position of the propiophenone 5.

Base-Dependent Stereodivergent Intramolecular Aza-Michael Reaction: Asymmetric Synthesis of 1,3-Disubstituted Isoindolines

2013

The nucleophilic addition (A(N)) / intramolecular aza-Michael reaction (IMAMR) process on Ellman's tert-butylsulfinyl imines, bearing a Michael acceptor in the ortho position, is studied. This reaction affords 1,3-disubstituted isoindolines with a wide range of substituents in good yields and diastereoselectivities. Interestingly, careful choice of the base for the aza-Michael step allows either the cis or the trans diastereoisomers to be exclusively obtained. This stereodivergent cyclization has enabled the synthesis of C2-symmetric bisacetate-substituted isoindolines. In addition, bisacetate isoindolines bearing two well-differentiated ester moieties are also noteworthy because they may a…

Logistics Capabilities in Achieving the Firm's Competitive Position and Market Success

2019

Firms are constantly looking for ways to build and strengthen their competitiveness. The most important dimensions of the firm’s competitiveness are the firm’s competitive position as well as the firm’s market success. An important role among the most significant factors affecting the firm’s competitiveness is assigned to the firm’s capabilities, including logistics capabilities. The aim of the article is to present the possibilities of the influence of the firm’s logistics capabilities on the firm’s competitive position as well as the firm’s achievement of market success. In particular, the following issues are presented in the article: (1) the nature of the firm’s capabilities, including …

Koriģētais redzes asums, kontrastjutība un aberācijas keratokonusa pacientiem atkarībā no virsotnes atrašanās vietas

2018

On the synthesis of functionalized porphyrins and porphyrin conjugates via β-aminoporphyrins

2016

International audience; The synthesis of functionalized porphyrins and their conjugates from meso-tetraarylporphyrins through the acylation and the oxidation of beta-aminoporphyrins was investigated. 2,3-Dioxochlorins were prepared by the oxidation of a variety of beta-aminoporphyrins and subsequently used in a condensation reaction with functionalized aromatic aldehydes and ammonium acetate to form beta-functionalized porphyrins bearing a fused imidazole ring. Under optimized experimental conditions both reactions tolerate various functional groups and afford the products in an appropriate overall yield. The mildness and usefulness of this methodology are illustrated by several examples in…

Unpopular policies and the theory of representative democracy

1993

Their platforms reflect concern with enhancing the probability of being elected, but some candidates often, or all candidates occasionally, voluntarily adept stances that reduce that probability. Governments care about their popularity, but sometimes they choose, even before an election, to announce or implement policies that are unpopular. For most people, the phenomenon is no news and is not altogether a unhappy one. Deprecating words such as demagogy or "mob rule" and praising ones such as leadership or statesmanship express a deeply-rooted, widelyshared concern about the possibility that democratic politicians could be too subservient to public opinion.(...)

Recipes of success : the case of pulp and paper industry 1989-2015

2017

Explaining the variation in competitive positioning actions across firms in the face of environmental change has long inspired debates in the field of strategic management. Despite the importance of these questions, little effort has been done to examine the complex interdependencies among industry, organizational attributes, and strategic actions that potentially underlie the organizational performance in one model without controlling one or more of the three factors. Most of the studies on competitive dynamics primarily have focused on independently exploring the effects of organizational characteristics or the industry structure on competitive actions and reactions, which, in turn, impac…
