Higher autonomic reactivity relative to self-reported discomfort, often found in repressors and avoidant copers might be associated with a diminished perception of bodily symptoms. This study aimed at relating such so-called verbal-autonomic response dissociation to pain tolerance. Eighty-five volunteers underwent a public speaking task and a cold pressor test. Positive Effect of Steroids in Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome

We present a case of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome with severe clinical manifestation. Apart from initial aphasia, hemiparesis, and a generalized seizure, the patient had a prolonged loss of consciousness. Although blood pressure was normalized, the clinical status deteriorated continuously. After adding steroids to the therapy, the patient recovered rapidly, suggesting that this could have been a useful therapeutic approach. Even the vasogenic edema in the cerebral magnetic resonance imaging disappeared shortly within 6 days.

INTRODUCTION: Although liraglutide is widely recognized to have glycemic and extra-glycemic effects, few studies have compared these effects in relation to hypoglycemic treatment starting from the diagnosis of diabetes. We evaluated the effectiveness of liraglutide in reducing the Framingham risk score (FRS) and visceral adiposity index (VAI) in relation to first-line hypoglycemic treatment from diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, continued without any changes.
