The aim of this thesis was to analyze the context of residential communities for young offenders (Part I) and to analyze the influence of social representations in adolescents and educators (Part II). The first part offers two levels of study on adolescents and on the organizational structure of the community. Adolescents show many problematic levels in the identified variables (Experiences of neglect and abuse during childhood, Attachment Styles, Self-Esteem, Interpersonal Relations, Behavioural problems). Background: Despite the great progress achieved by treatment approaches for Gambling Disorder (GD) the relevance of studying efficacious therapies still remains high. This pilot study aims at the evaluation of the efficacy of a standardized protocol based on Functional theory for GD. Functional Therapy (FT) is an integrated body-mind therapy.Methods: Twenty-eight pathological gamblers completed the FT protocol consisted in 16 sessions, two times a week for a total duration of two months, in an individual setting. ‘You play like a Woman!’ Effects of gender stereotype threat on Women's performance in physical and sport activities: A meta-analysis

Abstract Objectives The purpose of this quantitative review was to provide an estimation of the effect of stereotype threat on women's performance in sport. Design This review employed a meta-analytic technique. Method a meta-analysis with random effects model was performed on 24 effects. Publication bias was tested through funnel plots and Egger's regression test. Results Findings show a symmetric distribution of effects, making it possible to conclude that no file-drawer problem affected the collected sample of effects. Uno degli elementi che emerge frequentemente in letteratura è l’associazione osservabile tra psicopatia e dipendenze patologiche, sia da sostanza che comportamentali. I dati di ricerca mostrano, infatti, una correlazione significativa tra PCL-R e consumo di sostanze (Blackburn & Coid, 1998; Brinkley et al., 2001; Rutherford et al., 2000), in particolare con il fattore 2 della PCL-R, quello connesso allo stile di vita antisociale. Teaching and Sexual Prejudices. New Training Needs

Abstract This study focused on the future trainers’ attitude in respect of gender, sex and sexual orientation. Contrary to previous research studies, which associate to a greater knowledge a better attitude, our results shown that prejudices are still present even for graduate students. Therefore, it urges a reflection on a new teaching paradigm able to provide a plural gender identity vision. Training processes must be more than a mere intellectual education: a reflection on professional future.
