En este artículo nos centramos en la figura del marabout al descubrir su relevancia en la sociedad senegalesa en el transcurso de un proyecto que emprendimos en Senegal para conocer sobre el terreno los distintos aspectos del impacto de la emigración en un país de origen como éste que aporta un alto contingente de inmigrantes a España. La investigación principal analizaba las causas que generan la emigración y los modos en que ésta se realiza y ha concluido con la publicación de un libro, pero al margen de ésta, nos dimos cuenta de que había un personaje, el marabout, cuyas múltiples facetas vertebraban en cierta manera el fenómeno de la migración. Religious Self-definition, Mass Attendance, Importance of God, and Hopelessness among Spanish Undergraduates

The aim of this work was to examine the relationship between religious self-definition, attending Mass, the importance of God, and hopelessness under the hy-pothesis that these religious variables and hopelessness are negatively related. The par-ticipants were 273 Spanish undergraduates who were incidentally recruited. and who completed three religious items and the Spanish version of a Hopelessness Scale. The Chi-squared test and Bonferroni test were used in the statistical analysis. To understand the religious background to Wittgenstein’s work and the man himself, it is helpful to bear in mind the Catholic education his mother gave him from infancy, and to take note of at least some of the authors who influenced him in this area from adolescence and youth, for example, Angelus Silesius, Kierkegaard, Schopenhauer, William James, and the two greatest Russian writers of the nineteenth century, Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky. It may also be appropriate to add Nietzsche to this list, as we shall try to explain.
Los elementos rituales en las tragedias de Sófocles. Tipología y función a partir de los prólogos

En el libro se presenta un estudio riguroso sobre los elementos rituales observables en las siete tragedias conservadas de Sófocles, contemplados éstos como parte esencial del argumento dramático y no como algo aislado. Así, se tienen en cuenta los elementos rituales presentes en los siete prólogos como proyección dramática y reiteración a lo largo del resto de la obra. Gracias al análisis de estos elementos se establecen paradigmas regulares de composición dramatúrgica. En este trabajo se tiene en cuenta tanto el contexto religioso del autor como las características literarias y lingüísticas del género.

Este ensayo recorre la obra ensayística de juventud del gran historiador de las religiones M. Eliade, partiendo de sus artículos periodísticos y analizando además los textos que consagra al teatro desde su peculiar antropología de la religión tanto en sus 'Diarios' como en su máxima novela, 'La noche de San Juan', complemento indispensable de la propia creación del escritor en su cultivo de las obras dramáticas propiamente tales. El teatro resulta así investido de una serie de funciones que sólo la hermenéutica religiosa percibe y señala con acierto.

After doing that, it justifies the study of the religion in his works; especially on account of the documented effect it had on two great philosophers, the mature Nietzsche, particularly in The Antichrist, and the young L.
