OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the relationship between perceived neighborhood social disorder and attitudes toward reporting child physical abuse. METHOD: Data from a national probabilistic sample (N=9,759) were used. Responses about the perception of neighborhood social disorder, perceived frequency of child physical abuse in Spanish families, and willingness to report a case of child physical abuse to the police were collected through face-to-face interviews in respondents' homes. RESULTS: Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that perceived neighborhood social disorder was negatively related to residents' attitudes toward reporting child physical abuse. Understanding the challenges of professionals in addressing child adversity is key to improving the detection, protection, and care of exposed children. We aimed to synthesize findings from qualitative studies of professionals’ lived experience of addressing child adversity. Through a systematic search, we identified eight qualitative studies and synthesized them using metaethnography. In spite of a growing number of companies undertaking different social responsibility activities, only few of them report this. Mostly, companies choose to communicate their sustainability activities through their web page. Inventando el crimen pasional: del lenguaje de gacetilla a la prensa de sucesos (España, 1892-1920)

El terme «crim passional» va sorgir a la premsa espanyola el 1892. L’objectiu d’aquest treball és desvelar el perquè i entendre’n la relació amb la premsa sensacionalista i, en especial, amb la premsa especialitzada en successos. La nostra metodologia considera que la premsa és un motor cultural en la construcció de conceptes amb incidència social. Així, doncs, explorem la presència del terme «crim passional» en un bon nombre de diaris i setmanaris per observar com es va construir un marc mental de naturalesa emocional. Es revela la incidència del concepte en l’opinió pública i en el llenguatge jurídic, així com la seva rellevància en la justificació de la violència contra les dones.
