The educators’ work in juvenile justice residential communities and their capacity of affective attunement to the adolescent's needs is essential for the creation of a protective and enriching context for the adolescent and his life trajectories. A Kato's second type representation theorem for solvable sesquilinear forms

Kato's second representation theorem is generalized to solvable sesquilinear forms. These forms need not be non-negative nor symmetric. The representation considered holds for a subclass of solvable forms (called hyper-solvable), precisely for those whose domain is exactly the domain of the square root of the modulus of the associated operator. This condition always holds for closed semibounded forms, and it is also considered by several authors for symmetric sign-indefinite forms. As a consequence, a one-to-one correspondence between hyper-solvable forms and operators, which generalizes those already known, is established.

Separation of representations with quadratic overgroups

AbstractAny unitary irreducible representation π of a Lie group G defines a moment set Iπ, subset of the dual g⁎ of the Lie algebra of G. Unfortunately, Iπ does not characterize π. If G is exponential, there exists an overgroup G+ of G, built using real-analytic functions on g⁎, and extensions π+ of any generic representation π to G+ such that Iπ+ characterizes π.In this paper, we prove that, for many different classes of group G, G admits a quadratic overgroup: such an overgroup is built with the only use of linear and quadratic functions.

Instruction-based clinical eye-tracking study on the visual interpretation of divergence : how do students look at vector field plots?

Relating mathematical concepts to graphical representations is a challenging task for students. In this paper, we introduce two visual strategies to qualitatively interpret the divergence of graphical vector field representations. One strategy is based on the graphical interpretation of partial derivatives, while the other is based on the flux concept. We test the effectiveness of both strategies in an instruction-based eye-tracking study with N = 41 physics majors. Las representaciones sociales del alumnado sobre la crisis. ¿Qué soluciones ofrece el alumnado ante los problemas económicos?

Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación sobre las representaciones sociales de adolescentes de 16 a 18 años de la actual crisis económica. Estos adolescentes pertenecen a dos grupos de bachillerato de un mismo centro educativo y provienen de contextos socioeconómicos similares, sin embargo uno de los dos cursa las asignaturas de Historia Contemporánea y Economía (Grupo A) y el otro no (Grupo B). Se recopila la información a partir de un cuestionario escrito sobre noticias actuales y de un grupo de discusión sobre el tema.
