Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease. Cardiovascular events are the most important cause of mortality and morbidity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Beyond the traditional cardiovascular risk factors, chronic systemic inflammation has been shown to be a crucial factor in atherosclerosis development and progression from endothelial dysfunction to plaque rupture and thrombosis. Association between lower extremity muscular strength and acute knee injuries in young team‐sports athletes

The purpose of this study was to investigate LE muscular strength variables as potential risk factors for all and non‐contact acute knee and ACL injuries in young athletes. A total of 188 young (≤21) male and 174 female basketball and floorball players participated in LE muscular strength tests and were followed up to three years. The strength test battery consisted of 1RM leg press, maximal concentric isokinetic (60°/s) quadriceps and hamstrings and maximal isometric hip abductor strength. Background: Luspatercept, a first-in-class erythroid maturation agent, has been investigated in patients with LR-MDS and ring sideroblasts (RS) (MEDALIST; Fenaux and Platzbecker NEJM 2020) and in an ongoing Phase 3 trial regardless of RS status (COMMANDS, NCT03682536 ). The previously reported Phase 2 trial of luspatercept (Platzbecker Lanc Onc 2017) includes subtypes of LR-MDS with and without RS, regardless of prior ESA exposure, and various EPO levels. On December 24, 2018, the Etna volcano has recorded a significant eruption. Linked to this phenomenon, after a seismic swarm of 72 shocks, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck a large area North of Catania city, on the Eastern coast of Sicily. Six villages reported 28 injured people and damages to the building. According to seismologists the earthquake had an unusual level of magnitude. Yet, despite the real danger of this event, many people who live around the volcano, in one of the most densely populated areas of Sicily, perceived these facts in an ambivalent way. Neapolitan volcanic area is by far the highest volcanic risk one in the World, due to the presence of three active volcanic areas (Vesuvius, Campi Flegrei, Ischia) with an extreme population density: three million people live within 20 km from a possible volcanic vent. Volcanic risk in these areas is strictly associated to seismic risk, and to other secondary risks as landslides and flooding (De Natale et al., 2019; 2020). Šī darba mērķis bija pētīt ķīmisko arodvides risku farmaceitiem/farmaceitu asistentiem, kas gatavo zāles atvērta tipa aptiekā, izmantojot dažādas ķīmiskā riska novērtēšanas metodes. Rezultāti rāda, ka tiem, kas gatavo zāles, biežāk novēro ādas simptomātiku (p=0,042), ķīmiskais risks pētītajā aptiekā novērtēts ar III pakāpi – ciešams, bet 64,4% no zāļu gatavošanā izmantotajām vielām pētītajā aptiekā mēneša ietvaros uzskatāmas par bīstamām. Iegūtie dati varētu liecināt, par vielu iedarbību uz darbiniekiem, vedinot domāt, ka zāļu gatavošana atvērta tipa aptiekā varētu būt darbiniekiem kaitīgs un bīstams darbs, taču ir vajadzīgi turpmāki pētījumi, lai skaidrotu darbā iegūtās iespējamās cēloņsak…
