Autonomy-supportive and controlling styles of teaching are usually considered to be the opposite ends of a single continuum. An alternative view, however, is that individuals can perceive both styles simultaneously, which suggests that they are different constructs ( Bartholomew, Ntoumanis, Ryan, Bosch, & Thøgersen-Ntoumani, 2011 ). Using cluster analysis, Study 1 (N = 160) confirmed that both teaching styles were perceived by students. Skilful digital engagement may, however, constitute a valuable asset in necessary identity exploration and commitment. En concret, el propòsit d'aquesta investigació és determinar si hi ha diferències entre el professorat dels nivells no universitaris en relació amb la seua condició d'home o dona, amb el tipus de contracte laboral que tenen 'temporal versus permanent' i a la titularitat dels col·legis 'públics versus privats' on desenvolupen la seua tasca. The aim of the present study is to analyze the direct effects of employability and personal initiative on intrinsic, extrinsic and social job satisfaction, clarifying their cumulative and interactive effects. In the physical education (PE) teachers’ profession, physical tasks comprise a large part of the job. PE teachers identify their health as good, and they are satisfied with their job. Nevertheless, the work ability of PE teachers may be decreasing. Purpose: The purpose of this article was to explore the work ability of Finnish PE teachers. What disorders or physical problems do PE teachers experience as a result of their job, and how do they affect job satisfaction? Participation in leisure time physical activity (LTPA) in midlife is linked to both current well-being and many future benefits in older age.
