High-Resolution Shock-Capturing (HRSC) schemes constitute the state of the art for computing accurate numerical approximations to the solution of many hyperbolic systems of conservation laws, especially in computational fluid dynamics. Abstract A comprehensive classification of midfacial/craniofacial fractures, based on two- and three-dimensional computed tomography (2D and 3D-CT) is presented. We performed a postmortem analysis of 24 patients who had died from trauma with signs of craniofacial fractures, based on 2D and 3D-CT studies with pathoanatomical findings. In addition, CT findings for 100 patients with craniofacial injuries requiring an emergency CT were correlated with surgical findings and follow-up results. This survey article discusses some results on the structure of families f:V-->U of n-dimensional manifolds over quasi-projective curves U, with semistable reduction over a compactification Y of U. We improve the Arakelov inequality for the direct images of powers of the dualizing sheaf. For families of Abelian varieties we recall the characterization of Shimura curves by Arakelov equalities. Abstract: A Greek construction in which the verb is in the 3rd sg. form, while the subject is in the 3rd pl. and, in most cases, in post–verbal position, is called Pindar’s scheme inasmuch as it occurs most frequently in the poems of this author. Various explanations have been provided for this construction and it has also been interpreted as an error. The paper is an attempt at an overall syntactic explanation of the available data.
