Johan on markkinat! : varhaiskasvatuspalveluiden järjestäminen muutoksessa
2018
Yksityisesti tuotetun varhaiskasvatuksen osuus kasvaa. Kasvu on ollut julkisesti tuettua eli poliittisen prosessin tulos. Yksityisen toiminnan, perheiden valinnan mahdollisuuksien ja palveluntuottajien kilpailun lisääntymissä on kyse varhaiskasvatuksen markkinoistumisesta. Viime kädessä varhaiskasvatuksesta päätetään kuntatasolla. Tutkimuksessamme olemme tarkastelleet, millaisia merkityksiä kuntapäättäjät markkinoistumiskehitykseen liittävät. nonPeerReviewed
Does an early onset and continuous chain of rehabilitation improve the long-term functional outcome of patients with severe traumatic brain injury?

Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1089/neu.2011.1811 There are currently no international guidelines regarding treatment in the early rehabilitation phase for persons with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), and only a few studies have investigated the effect of integrating rehabilitation into acute TBI care. Informational interactions and the future of cities
1998
Present-day city growth is chiefly the result of new tertiary activities such as financial and producer services, R&D, or business administration. It seems that these activities need to be more spatially concentrated than traditional manufacturing activities. These new trends affect both the structure of cities and the structure of city systems. The specific nature of the new activities concentrated in city centers makes them information intensive. These activities consume human capital, knowledge and hightech capital, which are all rapidly changing inputs; they are based on complex decisionmakingprocesses; this renders them highly information-dependent. Inasmuch as these activities are the…
Język niemiecki jako czynnik rozwoju gospodarczego na przykładzie Opola
2018
Language competence is one of the most important factors affecting effective communication in business. In the companies of the modern business services sector (BPO and ITO) with a global reach, these are key competences. The city of Opole has become in recent years, among others, due to the availability of employees with a very good knowledge of the German language, the location of business projects directed to the German-speaking market by these companies. Cultural proximity and German language are the features that distinguish this location in the processes carried out under the so-called nearshoring. In this text the factors influencing this significant competence potential of Opole are…
Urban green spaces and urban planning instruments for the protection of ecosystem services: proposals for re - thinking urban legislation in Sicily
2016
According to the Ecological Society of America (2014), more than half of the world population (3.9 billion inhabitants on a total of 7.2 billion) resides in urban areas where 75% of energy consumption and 80% of the greenhouse gases emissions are concentrated (UN-HABITAT, 2012). This data, inevitably, show cities as a patchwork of environmental issues (as well as social and economic issues) and of threats to the integrity of the ecosystem services. The damages suffered by these services, due to transformations of basic territorial resources in the name of an illusory global prosperity, continue to have negative consequences not only in environmental terms, but also in economic terms, as hig…

Economy, Management and Education beyond Twentieth Century
2014
Abstract In history, people with a high level of education have had a good living standard. The education is responsible for: structure of consumption, public health, standard of living. When the education level decreases occurring phenomena that manifest in today's Romania: snobbery extremely expensive and spread; the society appear ill at large percentages of people; poor health services; corruption is expanded and public money is not used in the interests of community. Further reasoning leads us inevitably to the dissolution of the society and a possible disappearance or change of state. Not ruled out the option of a totalitarian society.

The etiology of overweight and obesity is a mixture of genetic determinants, environmental factors and health behaviors. Especially intra- and interpersonal inactive behaviors, here termed convenience seems to play an important role. The objective was to develop and validate the Convenience Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ) to assess convenience-related items and their association with overweight and obesity in a large population. A sample of 1233 subjects aged 18 to 82 years from six population groups took part in a self-administered questionnaire. Test-retest reliability was estimated and the independent association between convenience-related items and overweight and obesity was investigated.…
