Advances in mobile financial services: a review of the literature and future research directions

2022

PurposeUsing the theory, construct, method, moderator (TCMM) format, this framework-based review critically analyses the mobile financial services (MFSs) field through a detailed synthesis and analysis of a sample of mainstream empirical research published in various scientific journals within the period 2009–2020.Design/methodology/approachThe authors followed a three-step structured approach suggested by Webster and Watson (2002) to search for the literature to synthesise the global perspectives on MFSs and their associated applications and systems. The literature research resulted in the identification of 115 most relevant articles.FindingsThe authors identified three major categories or…

Lost or not? : designing and evaluating user interfaces of mobile map services : the viewpoint of supporting users' location awareness

2016

The motivation for this thesis arose from the problem of people getting lost, both with and without mobile maps. I will answer a primary research question: 1) How can we support users’ location awareness with mobile map applications? As an ad-dition to this, I have the following sub-questions: a) Why do people get lost even when using a mobile map application? b) What are the best practices to support navigation? c) How can we research what the important objects in the natural environment are that should be emphasized in mobile maps? d) How do we prevent the user from focusing on the map service at the expense of perceiving the location in the real environment? e) What would a good mobile m…

User behaviours after critical mobile application incidents : the relationship with situational context

2017

Users occasionally have critical incidents with information systems (IS). A critical IS incident is an IS product or service experience that a user considers to be unusually positive or negative. Critical IS incidents are highly influential in terms of users’ overall perceptions and customer relationships; thus, they are crucial for IS product and service providers. Therefore, it is important to study user behaviors after such incidents. Within IS, the relationships between the situational context and user behaviors after critical incidents have not been addressed at all. Prior studies on general mobile use as a related research area have recognized the influence of the situational context,…

User Expressions Translated into Requirements

2010

Grounding the development of mobile and ubiquitous services on actual needs and behaviors of users, rather than on designers’ intuition, is a well-established tradition. However, gathering data about users in different contexts usually results in large amounts of data that have to be analyzed and translated into requirements. This crucial activity and its outcome are often shaped by the preconceptions of the developers or researchers. Despite this subjectivity, the translation process is seldom transparent. The aim of this paper, therefore, is to contribute to the field by presenting a process for translating user expressions into needs and later into requirements using Reiss’ taxonomy of h…

MOVILIDAD, TENENCIA Y DEMANDA DE VIVIENDA EN ESPAÑA

2003

Mobility studies take into account that housing tenure has a high influencethrough transaction costs. If benefit of change is greater than costs, the household willchange their dwelling, if not the household stays even though their consumption is notthe optimum. Our aim is to analyse the behaviour of Spanish households that facemobility and tenure decisions, taking into account that they are endogenous given theclose relation between both: the tenure selected depends on the future decisionregarding mobility and expected future mobility depends on the present decision abouttenure. Together with these decisions, we will analyse factors that determine thehousing services demand for recent move…

MULTICRITERIA ANALYSIS – INSTRUMENT FOR AN ACCURATE ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF THE SERVICE SECTOR ON THE ECONOMY

2013

The current paper represents an attempt to introduce multicriteria analysis as an efficient instrument to prove that the development of services in Romania has a major impact on all aspects of our economy and represents the right path to pursue in terms of economic growth, on a medium and long term basis. The paper presents a general approach to multicriteria analysis as a means to successfully reveal the impact of the service sector on the economy of Romania. Several advantages as well as limits are presented, along with a brief presentation of the concept of composite synergy of services, corollary of the multicriteria analysis.

Informasjonsflyt ved mottak og respons på trygghetsalarmer : en casestudie for å undersøke hvilken betydning tilgang på informasjon og informasjonsfl…

2016

Masteroppgave i helse- og sosialinformatikk- Universitetet i Agder, 2016 The theme of this study is security alarms and information flow. The background for the study is estimates regarding an upcoming growing number of security alarms in municipal healthcare services, recommendations on the transition from analogue to digital security alarms, and reports on the current organization of the safety alarms of varying quality and low efficiency (Frantzen, 2014; Fensli, 2015 Kvernland-Berg, 2014). Purpose The aim of this study was to find what importance access to information and information flow had in the working process with security alarms for a future-oriented health services. Method The su…

Clinical reasoning and critical reflection in physiotherapists’ examinations of patients with low back pain in its early phase : a qualitative study …

2017

Aim: The aim of this study was to deepen the current understanding of physiotherapists’ decision-making process and more specifically, to investigate their reflections on their clinical reasoning when examining low back pain patients. Method: Data were collected in interviews with six physiotherapists, were the stimulated recall method was used. Interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed and then analysed by content analysis. Results: Physiotherapists critically analysed and reflected their choices and decisions in clinical reasoning with patient’s symptoms, onset of pain, clinical test choices and results. They stopped to consider the adequacy of tests for drawing conclusions and their…

Pain and clinical findings in the low back: a study of industrial employees with 5-, 10-, and 28-year follow-ups.

2009

Little is known about the relationships of clinical findings in the low back with low back pain (LBP) in the normal working population. We studied whether physiotherapist's findings in the low back were associated with local and radiating LBP among a cohort (n=902) of employees in the engineering industry. A systematic non-proportional sample was drawn in strata by age, gender, and occupational class. The non-proportionality aimed at increasing sample size in smaller strata. Physiotherapists performed the straight-leg raising test (SRL), and made assessments of the fingertip-to-floor distance and pain in palpation of the lumbar interspinous spaces. The variables on pain at the interspinous …

Active compression-decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation — Instructor and student manual for teaching and training

1996

In an attempt to standardize the teaching and training of active compression-decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ACD-CPR), a group of leading emergency physicians, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, paramedics and nurses with practical, theoretical, educational, and scientific experience in the subject met in June 1995. The group was called The International Working Group of Teaching and Training Active Compression-Decompression CPR. The group was 'born' as a result of the first International Conference of Active Compression-Decompression CPR held in Copenhagen in March 1995. The following paper describes the background, development and text of and ACD-CPR course manual for both stu…
