Dopo una premessa sui committenti, si indagano i più rappresentativi simulacri lignei del XVIII secolo della Sicilia occidentale. Le statue sono state eseguite, secondo la pertinente temperie culturale, da scultori locali, talvolta ignari dei tratti innovativi del tempo, che hanno reiterato stilemi dei secoli precedenti. Tra gli artisti con bottega a Palermo, aggiornati alle più moderne istanze, si annoverano Barcellona, Quattrocchi e Valenza. Recognizing Video Resolution by Monitoring Memory Metrics in Mobile Clients

Content delivery is one of the most successful applications in mobile networks. Mobile edge servers are significantly contributing to the improvement of this type of applications, by also performing resolution adaptations as a function of the radio link quality observed by the users. In this paper, we face the problem of dynamically tracking the perceived video resolution by mobile clients in a mobile edge environment to guarantee an agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA). To this purpose, we propose a protocol-agnostic approach, based on monitoring some memory metrics of a running video streaming process at the mobile client, for identifying the time-varying resolution of the video content.

Ferdinand Tónnies zdefiniował socjologiczne rozumienie wspólnoty i stowarzyszenia. To dwie formy współżycia i współistnienia ludzi w przestrzeni społecznej. Współtworzą one przestrzeń miast, chociaż w starożytności dominowały wspólnoty, a dzisiaj bardziej stowarzyszenia. Wspólnoty to wewnętrzna homogeniczność mieszkańców pod względem wartości, norm czy stylu życia. Podstawą wspólnoty była i jest rodzina. Abstract We provide a structural characterization of all continua X whose hyperspace C ( X ) of all subcontinua is the countable union of Peano continua. Applying this result we prove that there exists a uniformly path connected continuum X with no continuous mapping from C ( X ) onto X.

Pieniny Mts. are important biodiversity hotspot in Central Europe. According to Pieniny National Park Long Term Conservation Plan 2000-2020 small, isolated populations of some of Pieniny NP flagship species can become extinct till 2020. That is why their ex situ preservation at seed bank is justified and reasonable as supplement of active and passive in situ conservation measures carried out by National Park staff.
