This paper presents a multi-layered functional data model to support multiple representation and information sharing among distributed spatial information systems. The key idea is that a geographical space (foe example an urban space) can be viewed as a set of abstract spatial functionalities on which different application classes can be derived to manipulate objects of the same geographical space and share the same abstract generic functionalities. Charge losses are typical drawbacks in cadmium–zinc–telluride (CZT) pixel detectors. The effects of these phenomena are strongly related to the interaction point of the photons and are more severe for photon interactions at the inter-pixel gap and near the pixelated anode. In this work, we present some original techniques able to correct charge losses in pixelated CZT detectors at both low and high fluxes. Collaborative idea generation leverages social interactions and knowledge sharing to spark diverse associations and produce creative ideas. Information exploration systems expand the current context by suggesting novel but related concepts. In this paper we introduce InspirationWall, an unobtrusive display that leverages speech recognition and information exploration to enhance an ongoing idea generation session with automatically retrieved concepts that relate to the conversation. Energy Sharing Systems (ESS) are envisioned to be the future of power systems. In these systems, consumers equipped with renewable energy generation capabilities are able to participate in an energy market to sell their energy. This paper proposes an ESS that, differently from previous works, takes into account the consumers’ preference, engagement, and bounded rationality.
