Laser Beam Induced Current measurements on Dye Sensitized Solar Cells and thin film CIG(S,SE)2 modules

Calculating the efficiency of a solar cell depends on a precise knowledge of its area. Indeed, the photoresponse uniformity is essential to improve the manufacturing process. In this work we report on Laser Beam Induced Current measurements performed on CIG(S,Se)2 modules and Dye Sensitized Solar Cells. These measurements, performed via a green and a red HeNe lasers both operating at an optical irradiance of 1 Sun, allowed to obtain an accurate photoresponse map of the specimens and highlighted the non-uniformities with a spatial resolution of 400 μm and 80 μm, respectively.
Wpływ rozkładu widma promieniowania słonecznego na parametry multikrystalicznego ogniwa krzemowego

W artykule opisano wyniki uzyskane z opracowanej aplikacji integrującej model rozkładu widma promieniowania słonecznego oraz model krzemowego monokrystalicznego ogniwa fotowoltaicznego. W ramach badań opracowano program - symulator widma promieniowania słonecznego wykorzystujący algorytmy i procedury numeryczne oparte na modelu SMARTS2. Ponadto, przygotowano aplikację pozwalającą na przeprowadzenie modelowania komputerowego zachowania się ogniw i analizę zmienności ich parametrów przy zastosowaniu różnych rozkładów spektralnych oświetlenia oraz różnych parametrów materiałowo-konstrukcyjnych ogniw PV. Simulation studies of electronic transport in a-Si:H thin film solar cells

The thin film solar cells in Hydrogenated Amorphous Silicon (a-Si:H) are attractive for cheaper production and used in ultra low cost, high volume applications but have a relatively lower electronic performance. These limitations are mainly due to properties of the a-Si:H and relies on the production technique. In this study we investigate the physical mechanisms which are on the basis of the electronic transport and their relation with the technological processes. The transport-simulation computer program ATLAS (Silvaco) has been used to examine the role of the mid gap defect density in determining the performance of a-Si:H p-i-n homojunction solar cell.
