Fluorescent proteins from marine organisms represent potential candidates for biosensor development. In this paper, we described the isolation of a native green fluorescent protein from Anemonia sulcata and the cloning and purification of its equivalent as a recombinant protein in Escherichia coli. Furthermore, the spectroscopic behaviours of the native and recombinant GFPs were investigated as a function of Cu2+, Cd2+, Pb 2+ and Ni2+ concentration. Our results suggest the high selectivity of both proteins at copper than the other metals and, for the recombinant protein, a great sensitivity at a very low concentration (0.1-1 μM). In this study, the influence of copolymer composition on drug-polymer solubility was investigated. The solubility of the model drug celecoxib (CCX) in various polyvinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate (PVP/VA) copolymer compositions (70/30, 60/40, 50/50 and 30/70 w/w) and the pure homopolymers polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and polyvinyl acetate (PVA) was predicted at 25 °C using a thermal analysis method based on the recrystallization of a supersaturated amorphous dispersion (recrystallization method). Abstract The voltammetric response of microparticulate deposits resulting from solvent evaporation of ethanolic extracts of mangrove sediments in contact with aqueous acetate buffer is hereby described. Dated sediment cores sampled from the Peruvian mangrove system (“Manglares de Tumbes” National Sanctuary) presented voltammetric responses dominated by oxidative signals of organic components that exhibit significant variations depending on the depth. SUMMARY A conventional block cyclic reduction algorithm operates by halving the size of the linear system at each reduction step, that is, the algorithm is a radix-2 method. An algorithm analogous to the block cyclic reduction known as the radix-q partial solution variant of the cyclic reduction (PSCR) method allows the use of higher radix numbers and is thus more suitable for parallel architectures as it requires fever reduction steps. Multiple nodal solutions for semilinear robin problems with indefinite linear part and concave terms

We consider a semilinear Robin problem driven by Laplacian plus an indefinite and unbounded potential. The reaction function contains a concave term and a perturbation of arbitrary growth. Using a variant of the symmetric mountain pass theorem, we show the existence of smooth nodal solutions which converge to zero in $C^1(\overline{\Omega})$. If the coefficient of the concave term is sign changing, then again we produce a sequence of smooth solutions converging to zero in $C^1(\overline{\Omega})$, but we cannot claim that they are nodal.
Superlinear Robin Problems with Indefinite Linear Part

We consider a semilinear Robin problem with an indefinite linear part and a superlinear reaction term, which does not satisfy the usual in such cases AR condition. Using variational methods, together with truncation–perturbation techniques and Morse theory (critical groups), we establish the existence of three nontrivial solutions. Our result extends in different ways the multiplicity theorem of Wang.
A novel numerical meshless approach for electric potential estimation in transcranial stimulation

In this paper, a first application of the method of fundamental solutions in estimating the electric potential and the spatial current density distribution in the brain due to transcranial stimulation, is presented. The coupled boundary value p roblems for the electric potential are solved in a meshless way, so avoiding the use of grid based numerical methods. A multi-spherical geometry is considered and numerical results are discussed.
On Regulated Solutions of Impulsive Differential Equations with Variable Times

In this paper we investigate the unified theory for solutions of differential equations without impulses and with impulses, even at variable times, allowing the presence of beating phenomena, in the space of regulated functions. One of the aims of the paper is to give sufficient conditions to ensure that a regulated solution of an impulsive problem is globally defined.
